Hey Guys !! i have fallowing this forum for over 1 month ...!!! i found u really cooperative and nice Poeple , i.e "officially Canadians". our file up date wise as the fallowing: 1 File .Applied at " 3 October 2008 " 2. document request on November 25 20113.file was submitted "received according to Canada post notifiers at CIC Mississauga on February the 3rd .but still no letter has been received. our file has 2 dependents "Class A who is a younger brother of mine +Class B"who is I am ", currently a 5 medical colleague student .... i am really nervous cause i am finishing the 5th year next september , and then i am having an obligatory clinical internship year which is supposed to be finished in October 2013 ,after which i will be consider a graduat .... U can add me to ur Data UPDATE  ........ I hope i will get this process early before 2014, or i will be then graduated , and technically deleted as dependent. I am also coming from libya which had been having a revolution and civil war "last year "!!!.... I have also a 2 Question for the police certificate , currently the state Criminal investigation unit , doesn`t release PCC , coze the central data office was bombarded as By NATO ai  :or jets as it was used by col. Ghaddafi forces as command & intelligence control center to launch attacks against civilians in August 2011.... 1)Currently we only can get a certificate of good-well and excellent citizen resume from the local council of my city Tripoli , would that work ??  2) & also do u think becoze our situation in LIBYA is volatile & we are post civil war effected zone coudl that , influence the processing time of our application for humanitarian reasons  Sweet love from LIBYA GUYS  |

For all those who got the files transferred to Ottawa or Local Office, when did the status changed on eCAS? What is the next status after file has been transferred from CPC-Mississauga to CPP-Ottawa or Local Office? I got my file transferred to Ottawa on April 10, no updates on eCAS yet.

UPdate: Got the letter in the mail today that states that 'my application was received on Feb 15 2012 and determined to be complete. Hope the decision one is coming soon...
What is annoying is
1) their right hand does not know what their left hand is doing: in the email communication I received eariler the spelling mistake was corrected but on this mailed one it is still in there (probably because the letter is dated earlier than that auto-email after which my status changed to 2 line and a file number for my parents application appeared
2) the letter date is March 27, 2012, then from the stamp it looks like it was mailed on April 2 and I received it today (Apr 12). Why did they even send mail if I put my email everywhere they asked and they said the communication will be by email..
Still no change on ecas (i.e. no 'decision made' status yet on the second line)
Anyway, at least one step closer...

I had a chat with an immigration consultant about background checks. He told me that 'younger' parents have to go through backgroung checks. Both my patrents are below 60, he said, definitely had to go through background checks. However, he told me that if parents are over 75 then CIC may waive background checks.
He also told me that there is no time limit for the backgrounds checks to complete. :-(
My parents are both younger than 75 and they lived in two different countries. But I think they did not go through background check or it was fast, because they already got medical request. Unfortunately, I agree about no time limit for background check.I just received CAIPS for my sister SW application and her background check took around 2 years which is weird because she has nothing out of ordinary in her application. I suggest that you wait couple of months an then if you don't hear from them apply for CAIPS. It will shed some light on what is happening behind the scene. |

Another way that comes to my mind is if you get clearance from interpole. I am not sure how you can get one but for us Iranian embassy issues Interpole clearance when we apply for PCC. Regarding humanitarian reasons, I think you should call immigration or consult an expert about it. These exeptions are not advertised widely. I personally have not heard about any exeptions for Libya. Good luck |

Hi buddy, we both are in the same boat ..........today I called CIC and agent confirmed the current status of my parents file is 'background checks ongoing. Both my parents are under 60. |

I am not yet among transferred (as you know :-)) but I recall several people mentioning here that their status changed on weekend (even though the ecas webpage claims they usually update on Tuesday  ) For me, the second line in my status also appeared on Saturday (and email 'application received Dec 2007 came a day before on Friday) So maybe they are running batch updates after Friday ends to process everything for the week. Since last weekend was holiday maybe they did run that update? I do not recall anyone mentioning here that their status online changed this week (but of course the 'sample size' of our group is not that big here compared to all applications in process) Let's hope to see some changes after this friday |

Hello,
I have a question. My parents just got their medicals done in India. The DMP office gave them some papers and asked them to send it to Ottawa telling that these papers will let Ottawa office know that they got the medicals done.
Did any one else's parents got some papers like that?

hi there, my parents were also given a document to send to CIC Ottawa to confirm that they have undergone a medical. My parents will send this letter along with all other requested documents like PCC and marriage certificate directly to Ottawa sometime soon. I hope this helps! |

are you sure that medicals and marriage certificates should go to the same address? it's the same building in Ottawa (219 Laurier Ave. West) but the departments are different... i was under impression that medicals are supposed to be send to Ottawa Regional Medical Office Health Management Branch (3 rd floor) and othe documents to NHQ -Centralized Processing Region (7th floor)... |

Good point, Shuga! May be I need to send this confirmation to the Health Directorate. I am not too concerned about this confirmation letter though. medicals will be mailed directly to Ottawa health directorate by doctor himself. |
