FOSS notes are for applications that are being processed in Canada. Since your application has been sent to Vienna, you should request for CAIPS/GCMS notes. Keep one thing in mind, just ask for these (the first option on the form) and not the "Visa File informatin (CAIPS and GCMS) as this would mean, they would physically have to pull out your file to make its copies thus delaying your process. Ordering just the CAIPS/GCMS notes should not affect your processing times. FYI, I just submitted my request today.
Sakamath please explain to me, still confused about this FOSS and CAIPS.
FOSS – for in Canada - first stage of the application is in Canada, I want to see what is in it. Isn`t it the right form to get the information for the first step, sponsorship approval? To see the reason why it was transferred to local visa office? I want to see the notes of the visa officer on my file.
CAIPS – for out of Canada – second stage of the application is out of Canada, local visa office, want to see is the application transferred there. For me this is not so important, in this moment, because I can see that it is the politics, almost no one get the acknowledgement letter from the local visa offices.
Therefore I am confused and don`t know which is the right way to get the information?
