my docs were received Feb 10th, 2012.. hoping to get some update at least within the next 2 weeks :S
my processing started a year ago (March 15, 2011) so it doesn't mean anything to me until I get update!  |

I applied in sept 2007. My file also shows they start processing in march 2011. I got approval on jan 25 th 2012 and file send to Singapore .don't worry your turn is coming soon.

i know people from 2007 who passed medicals in January 2012 and got visas recently...
that sounds good..we also got medicals done in january  |

thanks I feel better now You better be, given the signature you use After the initial euphoria, things seems to have settled down at CIC. Haven't heard about any updates from anyone for a while.  My file was transferred to lo at ND on Mar 8th and I haven't received a confirmation email from them yet. i was hoping to see my mom in Canada this year, but it increasingly seems unlikely.  |

We`ll see in April, when CIC will issue 2011Q4, a report for the fourth quarter of 2011, then, maybe, we'll have some more specific information about the timeframe for applications that were forwarded to local visa offices.
Mentioned different criteria that we thought were factors in determining where the file goes, Ottawa or local visa office, but did not mention the age of the parents as a factor for deciding.
Let`s see, while we are waiting, try to discover whether age has any connection with the decision of where the file goes –

my parents are retired govt. employee's (not millitary background) and my mom has Canada's 10 years multiple visa, she visited Canada twice..... |

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5476E.PDF is MOST UPDATED one and you should use this one. updated on 07-2011 Check by calling CIC on where to send the form - CIC-M or Local visa office. Also, check with other forum members, as there was a discussion on this a while ago.
