Woohoo! E-cas changed to "Decision Made". CIC sent a letter on april 13 (Friday the 13th; Vaisakhi day) to notify of decision. CIC said to consider mail delays before contacting them.

I hope its transferred to Ottawa though.

How long it takes for that letter to arrive? (Provided e-mail, but i guess CIC likes regular mail atleast in my case)

I got the letter on 13 April. The letter was dated 10 April. eCas changed on 16 April. So I got the letter before eCas status changed to Decision Made on sponsorship. In Anik's case status has changed but letter has not been dispatched yet. I think CIC throw a dice and decide what to do based on that.

Thanks for sharing your experience.
did you ask what kind of decision is made?

The agent said it was approved and most likely will go to local office (but he did say the office part is not 100% finalized or something like that - not sure how he determined it is not 100% confirmed, he was not very clear)

Did u apply for it? I want to but not sure what to ask for?

No, not yet but I am planning to.
FOSS part will be for anything to do with the part processed here (i..e approval you as a sponsor - you may or may not be interested in that if approved already, but I will probably order just out of curiosity - to see if there are any hints as to how they pick the office).

The CAIPS is for your parent's files in local VO (this requires $5 fee and parents' signed consent if I understood correctly). Not sure how this works in case of Ottawa - this is technically not overseas but it is stage 2 and pertains to parents files...

I have not yet ordered anything - did not have time to deal with this yet...

In your case, you will have to get option-c print out for tax year 2008.

Hi,
I left the national id field blank as we don't have any national id in India.
You can leave issue and expiry field blank.

Do not leave National ID field blank. You can use any ID like a PAN card, Voter's ID Card, even a 'ration card' will do. I believe this is "required" and not optional.

Hi,

I don't think that PAN Card, Voter's ID card considered as national ids.The national id project in India is going to start very soon where
all citizens will get unique national id no.

Hi pari you cant send pcc on its own to mississauga unless they ask for it.....otherwise they will return it back to you its written in our second batch letter....i think they are taking more time cuz u guys have dependants  Sad so unfair

really they would send back PCC if you mail them to CPC Mississauga?
i called CIC agent last week asking that my parents already received PCC as in the NOV 2011 letter they told to start getting the PCCs in the process. Now that it was already here and if they become 3 months old then they are of no use so i asked CIC agent what should be done and they asked me to mail it to CPC Mississauga!

I believe, the people in the second batch of 'additional documents' have a set of instructions that are different from those from the first batch (Nov 25). The changes include asking for Option C print outs as well as asking people NOT to send PCC. I do not think these changes would affect people who are in the first batch.

PS: In any case, I would recommend you to hold on to the PCC till you know where your file is transferred. Once confirmed, you can send it to that office.

Well pari, mine is different as i sent originally on jan 23, asked to submit affidavits, and re-submitted docs on feb 23,2012.

So i guess jan 23 is still the date for me.
