Hi Anik

I got confused and want to clarify that with you, I am now filling in the IMM0008 to be sent to CIC, at Application Details, item# 4 where it is asking for Immigration Office requested for processing this application. Do I have the option to choose either my home country where my mother live or to be processed here in Ottawa, or if she is back home it has to be processed back home where she reside?? And if I do have the option, what is exactly the difference??

Thanks

Has to be home country, ottawa is not an designated office, its only done for this pilot project only

Regarding FOSS/CAIPS ordering: do I understand correctly that

- if I just order FOSS for my sponsorship application then I do not need to provide parents' consent form - but it would only cover mississauga part of my sponsorship application and nothing from my parents' visa files
- If i want to see anything related to my parents records, then I need to check CAIPS and need to get parents' signed consent form (e.g. to see past TRVs and whatever is in the local office at request time for their sponsorship PR application at local visa or ottawa once transferred)

Did u apply for it? I want to but not sure what to ask for?

starzibal,
good point.
When i was notarizing my mom's documents (I had some originals here in Canada), the notary was also an immigration lawyer. She told me that this process didn't make any sense, she tried to ask CIC the same question, that is, what is the logic. But CIC didn't give her any answers.

I have a question please, my mom already had her documents translated as certified true copies back home, but the certification itself is in the native language, do I still need to get notarized again in Canada just for that when I recieve it from her from back home??

Recommended: Color copy of the original certificate + original translational of it which is also notarized.

Can that "Person" not check his/her visa/passport for that information?

As far as I know, it's on long format paper ( when someone extended their stay ), then CIC gives UIC. I haven't seen it on a visa given in home country

Woohoo! E-cas changed to "Decision Made". CIC sent a letter on april 13 (Friday the 13th; Vaisakhi day) to notify of decision. CIC said to consider mail delays before contacting them.

I hope its transferred to Ottawa though.

How long it takes for that letter to arrive? (Provided e-mail, but i guess CIC likes regular mail atleast in my case)

Congrats!

My 'Decision made' status now says leter mailed on Aprli 12, however I phoned today and they told me that the letter has not actualy been mailed yet. The agent said the system generates 'letter sent' message when certain chagnes in the system are done (I guess the status update by an officer) but the letter may be mailed much later :-( (oh well...)
So it may or may not arrive soon Smiley We never know...

Question regarding "Proof of continuous full-time studies aged 22 or over,

letter from school indicating the number of hours of classes attended per day, and the number of days attended per week.

Is there any minimum number of hours to be eligible for full-time. My brother told me that he is full-time in M-Phil and attending 2 days per week (12 hours total). School also says this is full time, not sure if CIC can challenge this. Any comments?

thanks.
