You don't need a request letter for PCC. So you can start PCC whenever you think is the good time.
i'm planning to have PCC in advance, bec they say that it takes time to get that..but the saudi arabia and brunei need request letter, . how can i get pcc even without the request?  |

I got my approval letter via email on March 25th and the file is forwarded to Ottawa office. I had sent the additional docs in end-January 2012.
Anik- I got exactly the same email and a week later I got the approval letter via email as well. So, your turn is coming soon!
Shuga, sponsorparents and others: I am in your gang now! Could you please let me know the tips, dos and donts in the next steps? If all goes smooth, I guess I should expect a medical request. I had a quick question: Does the medical letter state that both the parents must go to the same DMP? My dad is in India for some work and my mom is in Canada. Not sure what should be done in this case?
Congrats!!! If I remember right, both has to go to the same DMP. Shuga has posted the whole email in the forum around Feb 15, take a look. Regarding dos and donts, if you have not applied/sent police certificates, please start that process. I guess nothing much, at least in my case, you have to wait until you receive medicals request. |

Shuga and others who were approved already: did you have a separate file number for your sponsorship application vs. your parents application?
For me, CIC used my UCI in communication as well as KIT ID (a long number).
Only in that email today I see the F... number (:-)) but still along wtih my UCI (no more kit id).
So I am suspecting that this F number is probably just the file # created for my sponsorship application (not for parents yet).
I have 3 UCI NOW: 1- the original UCI that is for my sponsorship. I can use it with my name and dob to check my sponsorship status online. This is the same one that after approval shows 2 lines, one says decision made and the other one saya started to process (pr for my parents) 2- UCI for my father ( peincipal applicant), I can use this with my father dob for online status check and it only shows one line which is the same as second line in my file. 3- UCI for my mother ( dependent). I can't use this to check online status because my mom is not principal applicant. I think CIC treats sponsorship as three separate process and that's why there are 3 UCI. First UCI is for my eligibily as sponsor or may be all together Seond one is considered for application for permanent residency by my father Third one is considered for application for permanent residency by my mother And I believe they process it in the same order too. When one step is approved they start the next one. |

I am not sure about the process where you live but I know for my parents, my sisters got a letter from canadian embassy first and then they went for fingerprinting for PCC. Check with the Saudi embasi and Canadian embassy where your parents live. If they asked for request show the letter that is for completing documents. In that letter it says we recommend that you start the process for PCC. This should be enough because CIC does not send any request form for PCC any ways. |

Shuga, where was it originally? on the letter, there is a 10 digit file number (doesn't work) but they sya in the letter that i can use the above UCI  My UCI was on approval letter, my parents UCI were on there medical forms that CIC emailed me. The file number does not work for online status. I was confused by that too, I am not sure why they are giving us so many different number but I use UCI because it says " unique"  Other things that I used to use before getting UCI were: My receipt number My record of landing number! (based on call center recommendation) I haven't tried them recently but I think they should still work, |

Do you have any letters in front of the file number you got? or just 10 digits? Is it called applicationID or file id or something else? The F0000***** number I got is called Application No
Yes I do have the "Application No" mentioned before the F0000***** number. I tried to access ECAS using this number but looks like its not in the system yet. Desperately waiting for the next ECAS update. I sent the Use Of Representative for couple of weeks back. Can't say if that triggered the email or my file has been picked up for processing. I will keep you posted. |

Wow Anik, seems like your was already sent to the Ottawa or your country office and the file for your parents was created. Congrats! Even though they received your app on Feb 14-later than mine. I didn't even get a letter that i am approved as a sponsor.
Sib, its bcoz Anik applied in 07 and u did in 08. so Anik's file is being processed first. Original date still holds weightage. |

hi snspring ya i know we both are in a same boat i am really very much tense.i call cic-m this response i got it The CIC call center agent said they are processing by batch....So, maybe some February cases were reviewed before some January cases because they do not look at date between the same batch? ; or maybe depends on the speed of the official reviewing the application.
She suggested calling back in 3 weeks. |

My status changed to Decision Made today. The letter sent on March 28 they say. Based on the timelines for the letter I received yesterday, that means they will mail it out by April 15th or so.
