...expect Medical/visa for parents in next year in summer 2013 or not? any guess...??

It would depend on when you originally applied. A few people who received confirmation of receipt, have stated a timeline on 42-46 months. Going by that, people who had applied in 2008 should get their visas by 2012.

...and not clear if cases from Ottawa will also be transferred to local offices for the last step...

If you mean 'issuing the actual visa', then yes, that step would still be handled by the local VO. I've also read somewhere that the results of medical tests are also sent to the local VO by the DMPs - but not sure of its impact on the processing time.

... they are not supposed to be kind...

I would be kidding myself if I believed that the sheer volume of applications is the cause of the delay in the processing of a parental visa application. The current processing time for the super-visa (also for parents) is just 3-6 months. While I do know the benefits of the 2 categories are vastly different, the requirements of the sponsor (LICO) and the applicants (proof of relationship, medical etc) for both categories are more or less the same.

i think that the reason that CPC-M was faster approving applications with additional documents sent in December than with additional documents sent in January is just the volume of applications... my understanding is that now they are working on applications from 2007-2008 - not sitting on them...

but before that - CIC was following the procedure - waiting for several years before they start reviewing the case... i agree that it had nothing to do with the volume - they just followed the instructions to control the number of parents coming to Canada... and they are still doing the same for applicants from 2009-10-11...

I've also read somewhere that the results of medical tests are also sent to the local VO by the DMPs - but not sure of its impact on the processing time.
the results of medical tests are supposed to be send to a regional medical office - not local visa offices..
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/partner/dmp/exam.asp
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/dmp-handbook/appendix-01.asp#appendix1

DMPs must forward all immigration medical reports to the regional medical office in their area by mail. Do not send immigration medical reports to the visa office processing the applicant's file. This will only increase the processing time.

My bad, what I had meant was, those applicants whose files are being processed at Ottawa, the medical results would still be sent to New Delhi and not directly to Ottawa (if the applicant is an Indian citizen, of course).

actually - i read on another forum that some DMPs are sending results to the Medical Office in Ottawa even if the case is processed in another country... but even if they go to Ottawa - they are going to a different department - not the same department that processes applications... medical exams have to be reviewed by medical office first...

Apply for Parents in end of 2007.
Received response in end of Nov 2011
Submitted papers back around Dec 12, 2011.
In Jan, 2012 received confirmation for permanent residence received.
Got 2nd email end of the Jan, 2012 that sponsorship application needs additional documents. They asked for 2007 "C Printout for 2007", T4/T5, other income, T1 General. They gave 60 days to response.

Anyone else got this?

I was wondering where your application was forwarded after approval in CPC-M?

That's another pitfall we would have to worry about. As the DMPs are currently used to send the docs to the rmo in their country. We would have to make sure the DMPs do not send the documents to the local rmo instead of Ottawa. Murphy's Law.

Ya,that's true. It's new process,Even DMP's don't see the ottawa medical forms before.Usually new delhi office sending the forms.one more typical question my friend told, Dmp office staff asked to my friend where to send the medicals? How do we know? They gave only ottawa pilot project address & they write it down in that email reports send to our review office.

Finally they decided to send ottawa.

Hi smom, thanks for sharing the address. Is it ok to ask you to share your friends time lines. It will be helpful for others to get an idea.

Thanks smom. Shuga, if its not too late, may be you should ask your parents to tell DMP to forward the results to Ottawa office.

it is not too late - they are doing medicals on Saturday this week...
honestly i don't think it will make any difference where to send medicals - they are going to the medical office... even if it's in the same building  - i don't think it will impact the timeline...
