CPC-M received my papers on Feb 2. I think it takes them longer now.
I am surprised they only give 60 days for police certs. Hmm...well will hope for the best.

Do you guys know if my mom will need to present a police certificate from Canada as well, if she was here 4 times, 3 of which were for more than 6 months?

i think about 2 weeks... my on line status says the decision was made on Jan 18 - but the letter from Mississauga says the file was transferred to Ottawa on January 31... i received the email today - February 15...

I think its because they notified us to apply for police certificates when they requested additional documents. |

Wow!! Ottawa is super fast. My file send to singapore in this Jan 25th, Applied sep2007. CIC website says it will take 44 months. You are lucky. Great !! Does anybody know about singapore CHC ?? Any body get medical request from there ? just want to know what year file they are working on now ?

yes, i think so, too. My mom got cert from one country in the end of Dec, which will be no good by the time they request it. It takes 30 days to get it. She still didn't get her cert from another country she lived in. Who knows how long it will take (it's through their Consulate). Scary! |

@ sibnadian, I have a feeling that it may be based on parents file with CIC. If they already have sponsored person's file in their database, then they might send it to Ottawa. In my case my parents visited Canada once. May be that's why they sent it to CPC-O.
Its just my thought not necessarily be true. Or it may completely be a random pick.

it is nice to hear the ottawa office is doing fast and shuga congruts to you can u please share your time line and also can you tell me or anyone knows that how police certificate works like my parents dont live in original birth country they are in other country for more than 14 yrs so do they need police certificate from that country they live now for past 14 yrs or they need it from country of birth which they used to live before i would appreciate it

the will need police clearance certs from every country they lived in for more than 6 months since their 18th birthday. That is, if the moved out from their country of birth before they turned 18, they won't need police clearance from there. |

I guess they send a file to Ottawa if it is straightforward - if they can see that there is not much paperwork to check. And sure if a parent has been to Canada or still in Canada is supposed to help too. I am just curious how they plan to send a passport request - if a parent in his/her country of residence, will they send passports to the home visa office or to Canada, sure second is unlikely, so it means the file will be transferred anyway? I think much easier if a parent is in Canada already. |
