A noob question. Just how do we check for the online status of the application? Try as I might, it cannot find my record online. I am trying to enter the receipt number and my mom's dob.
my timeline:
Oct 2008: Applied for sponsoring my mother.
Nov 2011: Received letter from CPC-M to submit IMM008 etc
Jan 2012 second week: submitted all relevant docs.
Awaiting for any response ever since.
you need to enter your receipt number and your dob (sponsor) |

Where do I get the client id from? The letter I received from CIC does not mention it anywhere:(
you do not need any client id - use your receipt number and your own date of birth and country of birth. it will work. |

Use Identification type is your PR number or imm file number & Same as your DOB.If it's not works call to CIC they'll explain how to check the online status. |

U can also use receipt number.... Do not need to use client date....
But if ur receipt is new.. they may not have it in their database yet

No luck yet (Maybe 'cause I'm a citizen so PR numbers won't work?) Anyway, keeping my fingers crossed that they have received the documents I had sent last month.  |

Mine is the same starting with R, we paid it on-line & it works great for us when we check our status. |

Did you landed an an immigrant in Canada? If yes then you should have your landing paper.. That paper has client ID.. 8 letters.. when you use this ID.. dont use "-" .. just type the number.. |

The odd thing is, I just called the 24hrs CIC number and entered my details, lo - it worked! However, it said the application was forwarded to the nearest Visa Office (presumably, NDelhi) on Apr 16, 2010! 2010??? How could that be possible? Did you landed an an immigrant in Canada? If yes...

"If your ClientID works over the phone and on online thats the only issue I can think of.. |

It's wrong info,Directly Talk to CIC agent.Even my application forwarded to local office on July 2010,actually my file forwarded last month. |

Yes, seems like that could be the reason. Though, I cannot seem to recollect I'd have done that  It's wrong info,Directly Talk to CIC agent.Even my application forwarded to local office on July 2010,actually my file forwarded last month.
So I am not the first one in that situation? What a relief! Will call CIC first thing Mon and find out the correct status. |
