Hi all,

I am on work permit. My father has a visitor visa which is valid till Jan 2012. He is not here yet. I want to ask is that visa valid till Jan 2011 or the immigration officer at airport will decide the length of stay for my father?

If it's valid till Jan 2011 then it is expired.

His visa is already expired.

Oh sorry I had to write 2012........
Visa is valid till January 2012. Sorry!

The port of entry officers decide on how long a stay your father will be granted. Your father can enter Canada on or before the expiry of his visa.
