I guess the backlog is so bad, they are still going to process those people in line, but any new applicants (or those in the line that want to come here while they wait to be processed) can apply throught the Super Visa.

As for how much a $10,000-$25,000 VTC health insurance policy would cost (as long as this meets the requirement that is set) to maintain in addition to provincial health coverage (because if the provincial health coverage cannot be obtained then $10,000-$25,000 is too small and $50,000-$100,000 would be a better insurance amount in case of a major illness).

A $10,000-$25,000 VTC policy costs about $652 for a 55year old, $1034 for a 65 year old, $1387 for a 75 year old, and $1570 for an 85 year old. Now, if Ontario's OHIP doesn't require premiums from anyone on a limited income, that might not be alot to pay ( parents or grandparents might pay more in their own country).

Sorry for all the separate posts....and the lack of links Shocked I guess I'll have to wait to be annointed with more writing powers on this board.

When I do hear back from the immigration consultant I was speaking with (she's applying under the Super Visa for her parents in December) about the insurance requirements I'll post again.
