Dear amerzd
My category is similar to yours in that I am also a pre nov 28 applicant. I did not receive any intimation by CIC that 2 years was the maximum time of processing, can you please give details of source.
Secondly , your signature suggests that you a received second AOR, is that right? It is now more than 6 months that I have sent my complete documents and there is complete silence from Islamabad. Can you suggest any step that I should take? Or do you think it is normal in present state of things.
SASIF, Amerzd has submitted his passport for Visa stamping early this week. He has almost cleared all steps. Few of my friends have also send documents after July, 2009 and now waiting for response from CHC. Only one has got AOR so far. |

two weeks ago I sent H&C request to CHC Islamabd for priority processing of my case on humanitarian grounds which I cant mention here but still no response from CHC Islamabd. does anyone know about H&C request for exemption from immigration legislation and its effects on application.
Your request for expedition of the process on H & C basis under Section 25 (1) shall not be entertained: OP 4 says: Section 5.2 A request for H & C basis under Section 25 (1) can be submitted ONLY if the applicant does not meet the eligibility requirements as a member of one of the existing three categories for immigration applications: A request for consideration on humanitarian and compassionate grounds must be made in writing and must accompany an application for permanent residence made under one of the existing three classes. A determination must first be made that the applicant does not comply with one of these three classes before such a request is reviewed or considered. OP 1 says: Section 18
A provision to A25 allows the Minister to grant permanent residence to applicants who do not meet certain requirements of the foreign national class in which they have applied.
You can only be considered under H & C basis, if you do not meet requirements of the category in which you have applied. And this consideration will make you eligible and will give you permanent residency, not expedite the processing of your file. |

H&C is not allowed under FSW post Minister Instructions. Hi Brothers.
I have just visited w w w.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp
It says "In general, you and everyone in your family who is 18 years of age or over need to obtain a police certificate. You must obtain a police certificate from each country or territory where you have lived for six consecutive months or longer since reaching the age of 18."
I have two questions:
1) Please confirm that Police clearance is required for all family members above 18?
2) In 1985-86 I lived in UK (Southampton) for 15 months for my masters in electronics. It seems that I have to arrange police clearance from UK. Can I file my application at CHC without this and provide it later if asked for?

Yes you have to Provide PCC from UK for that period,but not at initial stage of submitting application to CIO, Sydney, Nova Scotia. When you get approval from CIO and instruction to submit full documents to Local Visa Office (Now London for Pakistani Applicants) then you have to submit PCC from al the places you live after 18 years of age
