Excellent!

Dear medical is covered by government financed insurance in Canada but some provinces has waiting period before the coverage starts. Ontario has 3 months waiting period after which the resident becomes eligible for OHIP (Ontario health insurance plan).

If a resident of one province lets assume Alberta becomes resident of another province say Ontario then he has to wait for 3 months before he gets cover from OHIP but still he is covered by Alberta so he will get health insurance cover in Ontario but they will charge this to Alberta. In nutshell after becoming eligible for health insurance it does not matter if some one changes his residence from one province to another.

Below is the quote from Ministry of health Ontario website.

"If you move to Ontario directly from another province and apply for coverage, your OHIP coverage will begin on the first day of the third month after establishing residence in Ontario, provided you were insured in your previous province or territory.

Your valid health card from your former province will continue to provide you with health insurance coverage in accordance with that province/territory's plan during this three-month waiting period."

http://www.health.gov.on.ca/english/public/pub/ohip/wait.html

BC:

BC has a waiting period of two months plus the no of days in month of arrival (If some one arrives on 25th of March then his coverage will start from 1st June)

Alberta:

New immigrants can get Health Insurance coverage from first day following is the quote from Ministry of Health Alberta website.

“If you move to Alberta from within Canada your coverage begins the first day of the third month following the date you establish permanent residency here. For example, if you establish permanent residency in Alberta on July 12, your coverage is effective October 1.

If you move to Alberta from outside Canada your coverage begins on your date of arrival in Alberta.”

Rahat,

Those who had medicals in August 2009 had their PPR's Last month with exception of few. Baba G is silent on this issue Smiley

Someone from the forum got the news (unconfirmed) that there are lots of files ready for finalization and the applicants will start getting PPR's by the end of March and early April. If this is the case than we have to wait for a while.

Following members are in line to get PPR's

Seniors, please advise me! Can I show my bank balance in the name of my wife? It is being maintained over six months and meets the CHC-Islamabad's funds requirement. The statement is exclusively titled in the name of my wife. What cic says in this regard?

Thanks and regards,

Rahat

Thanks for the info. That will come handy.

I was talking to Rao Bhai few weeks back, and he informed me that Canadian Universities may require sealed envelopes of Degrees and Transcripts if one wants to get admission to continue/enhance education. He had experience this while exploring further studies option at Ryerson University Toronto.

Rahat Bhai, Since you are the principal applicant either it has to be exclusively in your name or joint account with your spouse. They may raise an objection on this.

  Cheesy Happy and Sad  Sad

Happy because Canada beats Pakistan to clinch 11th poistion; sad because Pakistan got 12th position. We were used to be No. 1, I can remember skipping my maths paper preparation to view Los Angelese Olympic Finals on TV.

Friends, special prayers after Juma Salat today. If possible ask Imam Sahib to pray for successful Canadian immigration along with rest of the Dua. Smiley

Thanks for your advice but as far as my knowledge is concerned on the basis of different forums' information and cic. if my wife is accompanying me to Canada then I can show the balance. Can anybody confirm it? I would also like to know that the same I have already sent to chc-isb. but they did not object to it to date. Now as I am waiting for PPR, they may ask for updation.

Do they attest Documents in Karachi or you need to send the documents Islamabad ?

Dear rahat
Since CHC did not objected so far on your account details then it may be okay and if they require you to submit current account details then you can have autorization to operate the account from your wife and then get a confirmation letter from the branch manager that your wife maintains the account and you are the authorized person to operate it I hope CHC wont object on this. your wife's account cannot be made joint with you now or you can have new joint account with your wife and transfer your funds in that account.
