if my application is approved by the grace of ALLAH, i will also go to vancouver. i have an uncle living in vancouver who is giving me 5 points. he has himself insisted me to come live in vancouver at his place for the first couple of months before i could find my ways towards my own accomodation and job.
dawson creek is a nice place to live i have heard. and its also close to calgary and canadian rockies. do you have relatives in dawson creek or just going there to have the flavor of both the provinces at the same time i.e. BC and AB?

I have my sister's family there in dawson creek,my uncle and aunt are residing in Ontario,brampton but I have decided to land in BC.

Dear Iateapple...........I just went through the judgment by federal court about private education. We allready disscussed this issue a lot as i applied in June, 2008 and have done my FA and BA as an external student (Private candidate). I was afraid and also had many examples that private education is not accepted by CHC, Islamabad. I was totally lost but after making a good research by various consultants and experts, all agreed that If private education have a credibility to be attested or affliated by governemnt bodies who are responsible for education rules in pakistan, it does't make any difference. But still i was worried as by seeing some bad examples and experiences by others.

Finalloy by the grace of God i have allready been sent a letter of provisional acceptance by CHC, Islamabad on 4th, july 2009 and further refered to medicals in a few weeks. I think it is good enough to prove that private education does't make any difference till it is attested or approved by local bodies who are responsible for education in pakistan.

One Important Observation....

I have observed that the guys which have allready submitted the exact and total bank statement in liquid money (Ammount as required by cic) in their names or joint account with spouse are not asked to re-submitt their bank statemnts with prrf. but be prepared and play safe at this stage.

I agree what you said, If degree done privately is accepted by authorizing body of the country in question, then applicant should get the points, full time studies or number of years are irrelevant as per R78(4) of IRPA.

But CHC still refuse private degree applications when the law is very clear. CIC also updated their Federal Skilled operational manuals to reflect R78(4)(thats what officer uses in most cases)

My friend is refsued last week because of private degree from Karachi university. The officer awarded him 5 points for FA and quoted in refusal letter because his degree is privately done, so no points. He applied in Feb 2004 and what a shame to get refused this way.

He has asked the CHC for re-consideration and lets see what they say

Dear Iateapple......This is not understandable : Anyways even i am successful in this stage but still i want the others who are new commers to identify the actual problem and then accordingly plan their applications. Because i have been a part of this panic game and i dont want others to wait for a lucky draw.

Secondly i dont belive in luck at this point and their is something minor error that we are missing in this area. I mean that could be the Gap between the education and with a combination of private education . (That is what i guess). In my case i did my FA FROM LAHORE BOARD (Private candidate) and then BA FROM punjab university as a private student and after a Gap of almost 14 years i did my EMBA from Preston University that is affliated with HEC. Atleast we should keep discussing this issue and try to sort out the error. Bec i trust that CHC Is at least making decission on some point not solely the private Education etc. Thier are many people who are successful with private education and same unsucessful with private education. CHC is dealing every day with bulk of application every days from many years and immigration officers are also well known to laws and every thing. If look at their practice with every day work, i dont belkive that find much difficulty to award credentials to any certificate are digree. Because they are working on set rules not their personal views in this area.

Dear Hot-Lier,

I dont think you were considered private candidate by CHC. CHC awarded you points for your EMBA which was a regular degree from Preston and also recognized by HEC.

In my friend's case his highest education is BA which was achieved privately so i can see the difference in your and his case.

I think what matters how you got your latest degree because the points will be awarded on that achievement
