A friend of mine who applied for Australian immigration told me that when he went for PCC in the city where he was living (lahore), he was told that he can only get PCC from the city from where his ID card was issued(faisalabad). so he got the PCC from faisalabad, applied with only that PCC and got the visa. although he lived in many cities.
do u think canadian requirement is different than that ??
Yar personally I think they consider 1 PCC per COUNTRY you have lived in, not the cities. I have lived in UK at different places for four years but I am gonna get only 1 PCC for all those locations, however I would have to inform them that I have lived at such and such places. In Pakistan it's different, there is no central body who issues the police certificate but your local police station. The example you quote of your friend is good enough to know that the Police certificate from where your permanent address of NIC is, would be fine.

Friends, the subject has been discussed many times and let me repeat it once again. Applicant plus any member (spouse and kids over 18) will need PCC from every city/country in which they live after 18th birthday for 6 months or more. I went through this myself and they asked for my spouses PCC from Islamabad which I provided. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/asia-pacific/pakistan.asp

Lahore Police is not charging ang money. Issuing certificate within few days. Very friendly behaviour. No need to bribe them. One PCC per city should be ok, if you have lived in different areas of a city e.g. Karachi, get your Police certificate from your local police station where your current residence is and I have just been informed by one of my colleagues that "500 wale zamane gaey.." Now they would charge you at least 1000/- to 2000/- per certificate.

Dear all,
Are there any chances that immigration policy will change in near future. I am asking this question because my current score is 65 assuming moderate level in all four modules of ielts. I want to take ielts first and then depending on score will decide to apply or not.
Please advise.
Faisal.

It is possible to achieve a better score in IELTS than waiting for immigration policy to change. I can predict that you can get somewhere from 7.5-8 band from the way you have drafted your forum post. Keep in mind though that you have to practice for the format of the test and be good at managing time, rest should be easy. Elsewhere in the forum I had suggested buying the Cambridge 6 ( http://www.cambridge.org/elt/elt_projectpage.asp?id=2501071) book and CD. This is a wonderful guide and the publishers of the book are co-architects of the test. Best of luck!

Thanks rk2009 If I apply today then after how many days I will be required to submit IELTS result? If there is sufficient time to take IELTS twice or thrice that would be better because I will have second or third chance to improve score in case I could not achieve the required score in first attempt. Faisal.

I would say its a good idea to have their passports, forum seniors can comment better, its been an year since i applied and my spouse did have PP.
For IELTS, prepare once and give the test. Test validity is for 1 year and can be sent with initial documentation, if not when it is requested. No point improving the test again and again.

In pakistan now the police clearance certificate can only issued only from the police station where u have permanent address according to u cnic. All the criminal record of the said person is available at that local police station. So i think one PCC per country would be enough. 2-Yes i have ist hand information that now the police record for the criminals is shared with the the police station of permant residence of the culprits, in order to reduce the police work. So now only one pcc is issued. The Process would be like this A- Go the ssp/dpo/cpo office of the disctrict where u have permanent address and get the police clearnce certificate form security branch which is located with in dpo office. aa- Get the form attested from local nazim, guzzeted officer etc B- Fill the form and take it the concerned police station where u have permanent residance. C- Moharar of the police station will check the criminal record and write a report on your form that this person has no criminal recored etc D- This form this than attested by the Sho of the police station E- Than the same from is again attested by the Circle officer which is DSP/ASP which is also know is sdpo. F- After these attestations ie nazim, muhrar and sho, dsp you will have to take the form back to the security branch from where u have initially got it . G -Thay will put it the dpo and get it signed from DPO Now ur pcc is ready to be submitted to high commssion This is the whole process and no need of multiple pcc as all the police stations now share the criminal record . C-
