so ,how she needs to do a diploma to claim her 3 education points. would some one suggest me which diploma is quicker to do so she can do it easily. Many thanks

You will get 3 points for your wife,s education.
OP6:
One year post secondary educational credential, other than a university credential and at least 12 years of completed full time or full time equivalent studies (12 Points)

Dear Nabil
Your wife's education points would be "zero" (0) as per CIC directives.
Adaptability criteria Points
Spouse or common-law partner's level of education
•  Secondary school (high school) diploma or less: 0 points

OP6 states:
Officers should assess programs of study and award points based on the standards that exist in country of study. The regulation do not provide for comparison to Canadian Educational Standards;

In Pakistan Secondary School Certificate is awarded after 10 years of full time education.(5 Points)
After two years of further study the student is awarded two years Intermediate Certificate equals to 12 years of full time education.(12 Points)

To get 12 points applicant need to fulfill two requirements:
one year post secondary educational credential (Our Intermediate is of two years post secondary educational credential) and
12 years of full time education

Even if our Intermediate Certificate is not recognized as equal to One year post-secondary educational credential then still applicant will get 12 points for 12 years of full time education
Regulation states OP6:
If the applicant has an educational credential referred to in a particular paragraph in R78(2) but not total number of years of study required by that paragraph, officer should award the number of points set out in the paragraph that refers to number of years of study completed by applicant R78 (4)

We only have one paragraph which sets out 12 years of education and it gives us 12 points.

OP6 further states:
Educational credentials of accompanying spouse or common-law-parter:
Evaluate credentials as if the spouse were the principal applicant then award points as follows:
Where award under R78 would be 12 or 15 = 3 points

So you will get 3 points for your wife,s education

I second to S.k but to remove the hassle u can take private B.A advice by Manj

 @ yours

I saw the same post on another thread and responded to it. I just wanted to convey to you that Pakistan Application Forum already exists and there is no need to start another thread with the same name.

But I am happy to see your post here,

Please ignore my remarks on the other thread started by you.

Best Wishes..

Hi

And on CIC website it is written that

Obtained a three-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship (other than university) and completed at least 15 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies

I have completed 16 years of education. May i obtain 22 ponits?

You don't have a 3 year diploma, you have a BS degree, 20 points.

Dear Amber,

When you fill the forms for final submission write the different spellings [or even the different (pet) name] in the Other Name(s): column. You will see this other names box easily on the first few lines of 'Background Declaration form'.

The Family Name, & Given Names columns in F-imm0008 and Background Declaration form are meant to cover up for follies of spelling mistakes or the short names we often use in our families. No need to get the spelling corrected as it would be costly and toooooooooooooo time consuming!

Best of luck.

Veryyyyyyyyyy witty Thanka a lot hot_lier, Manj,Samey11 for your care and concern...My husband has done his B.Com from Punjab University and M.Com from Gomal University D.I.Khan...I think name change would be a long and tough process. Our document due date is 24th February 2010...I think we should not bother this time as there are other lot of things to do.....like IELTS gathering other documents and tough of all getting PCC for my husband from D.I.Khan

General suggestion for all friends that please go through OP-6 (down loadable from cic site) before throwing in general questions. One may get satiated by studying it seriously. Amounts are as follows:

1 member - $10,833
2 members - $13,486
3 members - $16,580
4 members - $20,130
5 members - $22,831
6 members - $25,749
7 or more members - $28,668

If the applicant has arranged employment as defined in R82, they do not have to meet these financial requirements.
Bank statement 3-6 months.

Good luck.

People Kindly address my query,

The minimum amount required in your bank account? Bank statement duration?

thanks & Regards,

Mirza.

A three-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship AND at least 15 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study - 22 Points.

Full-time equivalent studies: If you completed a program of study on a part-time or accelerated basis, count the length of time it would have taken to complete the program on a full-time basis.
