Salaam Everyone,
Can anyone tell me that exactly how do you get points for IELTS? like 7.5 bands in Listening so how many points does that make on a scale of 4? based on the eligibility tool on cic.gc.ca and Similarly in other IELTS sections as well. I want to know that how much you should score in every section of IELTS to get full 4/4 points.
Thanks

Dear Friends Job scenario in Canada Grass is really not green...... survival jobs(8 to 9.5 $ per hour) are easily available but to get a good job related to our field is not an easy task . we cant say that job opportunities are less..Lots of job opening are there but its very difficult to get a call for interview because of competition. Canadian Employer prefer Canadian Education Holders for good jobs Some of my family members are well settled in Canada. Most of them have to study in Canada to attain a good job. so i think Canadian study is must for any sober job. I am also looking for this Keep me in your prayers
Yes grass is not green as its end of autumn and start of winter in Canada, in fact there are no leaves on the trees I think we knew very well that immigration is not that easy as just walk in to another country and get the job right away. Remember we all invested time in our country to reach the point where we are now, I started my career 10 years back as Accounts assistant and reached the position of GM Finance in 10 years during which I got the education and experience required to be there at the top, how can I expect to get the same job in a new country right away. We have to get in to a new system and after that world is open for us. I can understand what feelings imran and Ra00 are going through as I also have some of these moments although I am not here for long term. I think you guys should contact community help centres or centres for new immigrants , there are many over here in Brampton and they do help in building your resume and guiding you towards your career. I went to one of those community centre and they referred me to a resource centre where they changed my CV and interviewed me to assess my level after that they told me that I should get my credentials assessed. I enrolled with their program which is CO OP, now I do not know the real meaning of CO OP but they give you 3 weeks office training and then they place you for 6 to 8 weeks un paid internship and at the end of internship there are 70% chances that the employer retains you other wise at least you get Canadian experience. As I am not here for long term so I have set my dates for next summer. As mentioned earlier , do not go for odd jobs if you can survive without them, invest your time in searching relevant jobs, upgrade your skills and inshallah you will be successful. These community centres also have subsidise skill development programs , they recommended me to take ACCPAC etc , but if you go for CO OP then they will provide you necessary training free but there is a registration fee. Hope you guys will over come these small issues. M.Rizwan

@ Najeebkhan You are right the listening part get difficult stage by stage. If you miss one question and keep on thinking about it, then you are liable to miss the new few questions as well. The tip is that leave that question which you are not sure about, just go on with the listening and then answer the missing question by guessing.
Listening part is same for the Academic and general training. Wish you best of luck

@ MRS The official at the airport told me that it will take 3 months before u receive PR card, secondly they have done some sort of upgradation with this card,so its taking sometime, when u r leaving for pakistan? really wish that I could have fit into one of your bag ))))) or apply some sort of invisibility cream to hide myself , jokes apart, sctually i have done my homework n as far as my profession is concerned i have to do some licensing exams first n after that chances are really good, i know one thing for sure that once i get into the system,i will recover in first few months ,i m not at all disappointed or disheartened,i constantly say that canada has given me a lot n now its time for me to understand the rules n regulation,n plan accordingly,i have done that, i m appearing for my exams next yr in May,so keep praying for me,i have plans to complete my exams by next year, what i really insist and want other people to understand that they should do complete homework before they land here, i was really lucky that i am still single,no accompanying family members ,it will be really hard for the people who wanna come with their family, for that reason i am constantly emphasizing that try exploring some jobs related to ur profession in canada while sitting in pakistan,n understans that what barriers are there....... if theres any certification or exam u have to do ,just do it, I am in contact with some agnecies, lets c what happens, MRS u r absolutely right that one should look for job in his/her profession,i also agree that services these agencies are offering are really helping new immigrants to settle in. When are u leaving? ?? i think that once u get the PR card u will leave,is that the case???

@ Those who wants to appear in IELTS
There are many good books available in the market, however, I have found the following books very useful:
1) Insight into IELTS 2) Insight into IELTS Extra 3) Cambridge IELTS 3
Specially, The Insight into IELTS is very useful. Additionally, there are many good online resources available, but i recommend you must go through Insight into IELTS atleast..
Best of luck

Imran can you tell me when you landed over here, the CIC website suggest the its taking around 36 days to process PR Card are you sure man ? oh dear ............

Salam all,
I have a confusion please if any body could suggest a solution
I have done one year Executive MBA in 2008 and now i want to go for full MBA i-e 2 years. University says that If I want to do second year as well then I will have to surrender Executive MBA degree. I want to apply for Canadian immigration after three month and by then I will have my degree surrendered to University. I want to know can I claim points for One year Executive MBA and how I will prove that to CHC because I would have already surrendered my degree to university.
Regards
Faisal.

I agree with Imran and MRS that we need to become part of their system and i was already prepared for all these situations. When I go and meet with people they surprise that its too early to think about job just chill for atleast 3 months and then think about job:) MRS: I am staying in Mississauga and you are in Brampton. not very far right. Lets spare some time to meet up brother.
