Dear Friends
Job scenario in Canada
Grass is really not green......
survival jobs(8 to 9.5 $ per hour) are easily available but to get a good job related to our field is not an easy task . we cant say that job opportunities are less..Lots of job opening are there but its very difficult to get a  call for interview because of competition. Canadian Employer  prefer Canadian Education Holders for good jobs
Some of my family members are well settled in Canada. Most of them have to study in Canada to attain a good job. so i think Canadian study is must for any sober job. I am also looking for this
Keep me in your prayers

Dear All,

My current occupation falls in NOC: 0631 but sadly i score 66 points at this point and to be a successful applicant, i need another year's experience. Is there any authentic news or update regarding the NOC being revised or changed in the upcoming year? i wish to apply by September 2010 Insha Allah and have heard rumors about the NOC being revised in Summer 2010, which might lead to occupations being added, removed or edited according to Canada'a skilled labor requirements.

Do comment on this..

Please and Thanks.

Why don't you improve your IELTS and apply now

I'll be 23 in Jan 2010. Finished my BBA last year (15yrs of full time education), Only have an year's experience till now, have a relative in Toronto, i'am already getting 14 marks for English Language .. cant go for french, because i had a meeting with Mr. Azhar Fareed Khan at Lalani & Associates, and he said if you claim points for French then there is no possibility for an interview waive, the interview will then be compulsory and it'll be in French (to assess ur French Language Skills) !! and that will be really tough.. In Conclusion, it'll be more risky and it also increases rejection chances.. Soo, the best option right now is to wait .. but the NOC revising thing is really crushing my hopes..

I dont know on what basis Mr. Lalani said this thing for french. I claimed 2 points for french and have done French cource from Alliance francais and i was not asked for interview. It is allready waived. Dont understand what he is talkin about.

Yah, lots of people have told me that !! but i really dont know wether to go for it or not !! im really double minded right now .. May Allah Guide and Bless us all (Aameen).

immigration officers are not supposed to conduct interviews only to analyze the language skills. if you read skilled worker guidelines booklet, you will find this information in that booklet. also show this booklet to mr. lalani Smiley.

i guess your best bet is to either wait for another year and then apply. if you think this is a risk and the "list" could be changed, then sit another ielts exam to achieve full 16 marks so to make you qualified at this stage. if you want to go with french, its your choice.

whatever you do, i wish you luck.

im still thinking about what to do !! thanks for your comment and advice .. it is much appreciated.

Dear Imaranali
Have a heart and don't think like that. Otherwise you will just make your life miserable emotionally.
This is a sincere advise from a person who has been suffering all these feelings.

Ra00 and Imran Bhai,

Nice to hear from you both. May Allah (SWT) grant you your precious jobs at the earliest. This is the dark side of immigration and most people are unaware of it. I get scared seeing the number and material of the applicants. I hope we understand what we are doing when we apply for immigration. I took fifteen years to decide to (finally) apply to immigrate for a shorter period (4-5 years) and fall back to Pakistan with respect. The necessity is to get my children get highly educated at a lower cost and to get a passport from a "first world country" so that they do not feel helpless when they are looking for jobs locally or worldwide. We are Pakistani & Muslims by core of our hearts and will inshaAllah remain so!

For an unprepared immigrant, petty jobs will lead to financial burdens, which lead to frustrations and finally one returns to Pakistan hopelessly, or opts to settle there at the lowest level of that society (a matter of great shame to portray our national identity).

I recommend that all those who plan to immigrate should plan it in a way that they can survive without a job for at least one year and also should plan to get your relevant Canadian educational qualification during that one year. If you go in "student mode" or with a "student type of mindset" then probably the transition would be easy for you. So people please plan, plan, plan and prepare yourself to compete in every aspect for a successful life after immigration.

I earnestly pray for all that your dreams come true and Allah (SWT) gives us the wisdom to make the right decision and shower his blessings on all Muslim Ummah. (Ameen)

Sincerely, Manj

Yes I mean PP for passport.

Yes CHC, Islamabad normally askes proof of funds twice, first at the time of submission of full application and secondly when they ask to pay residency fee ( If not paid yet) and passport for stamping.
