Good to hear from you, i am travelling on sunday morning 18th OCT (after few hours) and your post has definatly cleared my doubts. Wish you best of luck.

  @   domingo

We have to park the trolly at the stand to get the dollar back , if we leave some where else then we forfit the dollar. This is international practice may be Rao was just too excited that he forgot.

Hey Guys!!!!!

Alhamdulillah I reached Toronto on 16 Oct. Immigration documentation ws very smooth.hardly it took 2-3 minutes.

I had one bad experince at Islamabad airport while checking in. Anti norcotics guy took US$20 (initilally he had asked US$50 but after bargaining I was able to pay 20) as a bribe otherwise he told me to create issue:(

I also lost US$5 at Pearson Toronto Airport. Here at ther airport trolly to carry luggage is not free of cost. you have to pay $2 per trolly. i had 5 big bags anf three hand carry. so i rented two trolly for $4 dollar. when i came home my aunti informed me that i could get back my $4 if i had returned trolly. But as you know we pakistanis are very NAWAB:)

I am really thankful to all of you guys and request to pray for a successful life.

To handle the airpot culture see the movie terminal.....Smiley)) It will also help you to understand the trolly system.

Asalmkaolekum Dear Pakistani Brothers..

I need some urgent information about Canadian Immigration.

I have submitted my imigration documents on Spetember 12th 09 (TCS Confirmation of deleviry) under skilled DOCTORS General Physicians Catagory. Today is October 18th - 09 and i still have not received any responce of Acknowledgement from Canada. Here are few  of my questions.

1) How long is it taking to receive any Acknowledgement ?

2) Under Doctors General Physicians how much ILETS score do i need? Is that score accounted as individually of each section or the score is counted as average of all 4 section?

3) My Wife is USA Citizen and is on my application as NON-Accompning person. Will it have any issue while at Interviewing in Islamabad? that why u r going to Canada and your wife is in USA?

4) How long does it normally takes at Canadian airport in Immigration and what kind of question do they ask there once every thing is completed and i fly there from pakistan.

5) How much points do Doctors get for their education? when they have Pakistani MBBS degree?

6) How much money should i carry with me when traveling to Canada first time?

Thank you in advance for repplies

Hi Hot-lier and Everybody

need your guidance on following:

In IMM 0008E form for canada immigration, applicant has to mention total number of years of formal education for his kids also. My question is whether education prior to class 1 (i.e. PlayGroup, Nursery and Prep) is considered as formal education or not?

My son is in Class 1. His Class 1 session started from Sep 09.What would be the right answer to question of total number of years of formal education for him?

Should it be 2 months [only Class 1 education] OR 3 years & 2 months(including PlayGroup, Nursery,Prep and Class 1]?

Best Regards
Ashraf

Respected Seniors
AoA

I have applied as FSW-1 under NOC 4131. My initial application was forwarded to Sydney NS on 1st Oct. 2009 and received by 7 Oct.(as per Fedex tracking record)

I enclosed a demand draft amounting to CAD 1700, which was made by "PAKISTAN CURRENCY EXCHANGE COMPANY (PVT) LIMITED Nursery Branch, Karachi.

Now my question is that:

How can I know that the amount has been transferred to Receiver General of Canada Account ?

An early reply will be highly appreciated.
Best regards

The DD should be in the name of Received General of Canada. Nobody other than the recipient will be able to en-cash it.

I think I have not made my question quite clear. Actually I want to know when the money has been transferred to their account. Those who have their own foreign currency account they can check it from their bank. But I have sent the DD made by the money changer at Nursery karachi, "Pakistan Currency Exchange Company.

Hi every one

Today i.e 18th october 2009, i landed at Toronto Airport, the immigration process was smooth and simple , i went to the counter and the officer asked for the declaration card, i told him that i was landing and he asked me to proceed to immigration counter . Over there the officer just asked me the address where i will be staying and how much funds i have brought with me . i told him i have CAD$ 11,500/- he wrote it down and asked me to sign the COPR then he stamped the passport and attached the copy of COPR with my passport and thats it. The entire process lasted for 3 minutes and no further questions were asked. I went for collecting my luggage and then went to the customs officer he asked me what i was bringing with me i told him just my personal cloths some house hold items, a laptop and digital camera he said fine thanks and you can go. Thats it.

I was disappointed to find out that they charge 2 dollars for trolly and they return only 25 cents when we return the trolly at their place , if i knew it i would have just left the trolly at the car park Smiley
