Can you please provide me a link of official website where it is written that that process will take around 6 - 12 months ? Does is also applicable to Islamabad office ?

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/backgrounders/2008/2008-11-28.asp

Federal skilled worker applications received on or after February 27, 2008, will now be assessed for eligibility according to the criteria set out in the instructions. If an application does not meet the criteria, it will not be processed, and the application fee will be fully refunded. New federal skilled worker applicants, including those with arranged employment, should receive a decision within six to 12 months

2.5 yrs as Mechanical Engineer

0.3yr as Petroleum Engineer

Now my latest profession is Petroleum Engineer. My last three job assignments i.e. 0.3+0.3+0.9 are full time continuous, i mean there is no gap inbetween them, not even a single day gap. As for 2.5yrs as a mechanical engineer it is full time continuous, so does this satisfies.

As both the professions are covered under Skilled Type A, does the above mentioned work experience satisfies the condition of " atleast continuous one year full time experience" as mentioned in the guidance notes

how many months you have been working in your current job as a petroleum engineer? i suppose its less than a year. to be on the safe side, its not a bad idea to wait for a couple months more till you complete one year as a petroleum engineer in your current job and then apply. i am saying this because i have seen a couple of cases on this forum where people had one year of experience but in two seperate episodes and they got rejected. one guy posted his case last week and he was also rejected because of the same issue. he had experience like 7 months in job1 (NOC 4131) and 8 months in job2 (NOC 4131) which adds up to more than 1 complete year if you do the math but he was rejected. the reason for rejection was not that his duties did not match. the reason was that he does not have a one year continuous work experience... my 2 cents... complete one year in your current job and then apply. your one year of experience as a petroleum engineer will make you qualified. and  your remaining experience as mechanical engineer and other jobs previously will give you points. so you would be able to claim 21 points.
remember, i am not an expert. i am only giving a suggestion based on what i observe

I dont understand that why CHC, Islamabad is quite all the week and have't seen any development as expected. Now we are many people almost sharing the same time lines. Bec the difference of 10- 15 days does't make any difference in CHC, Islamabad. I was strongly expecting this week to come up with results and now it is almost near to an end.....................Best of Luck to all

This "quietness" makes everyone nervous. Hope CHC is working under normal conditions and not really fiddling with the cases. At times I am scared with the mind-set Westerners have about us, Pakistanis.

God Bless all and success comes through shining.

For the benefit of understanding the working of ministerial instructions, the following link could be informative to all in waiting:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2009/index.asp

Please go through the OB 120 – June 15, 2009
"Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) Applications – Procedures for Visa Offices"

Good luck.
