Dear aajj, I am not an expert myself and it is out of just related experiences I share my views with you. My intent is not to discourage anyone, but help wherever possible. To accept or reject is entirely your own choice! As you state; " Current status on CIC website is: Withdrawn, on first line and Decision Made, on second line", my assumption is that your second line states the local CHC's decision. Under the old system of evaluation, unless the medicals were done, this generally referred to rejection of the case. First line "withdrawn" is normal as NS is closing those files whose cases were handed over to local CHCs. You did not mention in your message if you were given any deadline (date) to submit your IELTS result. I would, however, suggest that you immediately FAX Islamabad CHC and : 1. Inform them that you have noticed the change in status online and you have not been informed of the decision. 2. Inform them that you took IELTs on (__/__/2009) on CHC's specific instructions vide their letter No. ____ dated _____, and submitted the original result to CHC on (__/__/2009) through courier (Courier name, date and tracking/Receipt No.) 3. Inform them that you feel concerned as CHC did not acknowledge receipt of IELTS results which was a pre-requisite by them for eligibility of language points. 4. Ask for an update on your case. Wish you good luck, Manj Any help regarding this Dear Manj and Dear Hot-Lier Thanks for your replies.
Dear Manj thanks for your detailed reply. As per your advice I sent a fax to CHC detailing all these. Pray for the best. Thanks. and Regards

to all seniors
what is the importance of information (e.g,education, job, purpose) given in ielts application form?
if a mistake in filling happens then is it necessary to inform british council?
no importance per se. this information is not printed on your IELTS result form. chillax.

Dear Manj and hot-lier
i had my bank account times ago now it would be closed.
should i open a new account with my name or my husband is running his personal account for years and we should change it to joint account?with this we can also show some history..
And is it right changing an old account to joint account just before final application submission?
i appreciate for ur co-operation.
in my opinion, no need to even change the account to joint account. you can show your husbands account statement, provided he is included in your application.

Proof of funds require that you should have account in your own name or a joint account with your spouse. Change your husband's account into a joint account. No harm to anyone and it is also the simplest solution. It should have the required funds in this account, either fixed or open. Manj Dear Manj and hot-lier

Though minor mistakes do not matter much, but as a careful person, I would prefer that information on IELTS application should match to CHC information. If the difference is in name, profession, education or age or something really gross, then maybe you need to get it amended, and if it is otherwise small, then one may ignore. to all seniors

Proof of funds must be on applicant name or his/her accompanying spouse name or a combination of the both. So if your accompanying husband has required amount in his account, it will work

To get points for one particular NOC applicant don,t need to fulfill Employment Requirements for that NOC, listed to get points. These Employment Requirements are NOT for the people who claim points for that NOC, for the purpose of Immigration, rather these requirements are for getting job in that particular NOC once you are in Canada. National Occupation Classification (NOC) is a list with different individual NOCs for each occupation which are further classified as Skill Level O, A, B,C and D. So all your NOCs under which points are claimed must be either in Skill level O, A or B to get points. One can have two experiences of different NOCs with different type of jobs to claim points but these must be in Level O, A or B.To get points as a finance manager you don,t need a degree in Finance. People are good Finance Manager here with B.A qualification and years of experience in Finance. Our contractors are very good Construction Managers without any formal degree but with a lot of experience so they will get points for that. So if one gets a bachelor degree in computer science and two years of IT experience and after that gets some job related to advertisement, he/she will still get points for both NOCs, the NOC for the IT job and NOC for advertisement job, if in Skill level O, A or B. Here is the NOC Matrix to better understand Skill Levels http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/pdf/Matrix.pdfI am surprised !!! If its true then it endroses my point that the whole immigration policy is flawed But i doubt its is like this ! MRS

Hi Manj Brother,
You are doing great work on this forum, I am also interested to pursue canadian immigration. Can you please guide me in few things.
Let me introduce myself, I am 27 Guy , bachelor, and have done 16 years of education, as Electrical Engineer. I am working in Petroleum firm for more then 3 years now.
I am intouch with a well known canadian immigration consultant firm in Islamabad, but they are asking for alot of charges around 4000 USD, though in installments, i have few queries if you or some senior forum member can answer them.
1). Is the Immigration Process is manageable if a person apply at his own? without taking help from Immigration consultant?
2). I have 3 year and 2 months ,experience in Petroleum field, but my over all experience including in telecom is 4 years +. What immigration consultant told me, that you will get full marks (21) for over 4 years experience. I want to confirm that for skilled class the experience they count is only for the specific occuption as mentioned in skilled visa category or over all experience?
3) How much score i should get in each module of the IELTS to get full 16 Marks in IELTS. As right now i require full 16 marks to make my total points as 67. My point break down is as under.
i). 16 years of Education 20 ii). IELTS 16 ( I hope and can try for 16 marks but need to know marks in each module required) iii). Age 10 ( I am 27 years old) iv). Experience 21 ( As told by consultant that this experience is cumulative exprience you have , doesnt matter if one plus year experience is not in high skilled class)
Hope to hear from soon from experts.
Thanks
Jade

I will let Manj reply on the other questions as requested but my 2 cents on using a consultant is DO NOT DO IT. I was charged $1600+ for several mistakes that he (a reputable well known consultant) made on my case resulting in lots of delays and frustration. I eventually let him go but had to pay half the fee i.e. 1600+. I think the amount of work I had to do with him due to his mistakes and negligiability would be enough to file the case 2 times myself on my own. From my experience, most of these consultants are just swindling money out of people's pockets by portraying the process as very hard. Basically all they do is ask you to collect your document and data that you have to do on your own anyway, provide it to them and fill your form (in my case they even asked for the draft for the form and copied the stuff I wrote ditto). At the least it's not worth it if you have a straight forward case and not a complication that you need help with. You will find plenty of help on CIC website, forums like this one and people willing to help like Manj, Hot-lier and others. Hi Manj Brother,
