Hi Ayesha

3. You need ~• A university degree of two years or more at the Bachelor's level, AND at least 14 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study to get 20 points. If it was full time (or equivalent) 14 years in class rooms, then you get these 20 points, otherwise not, sorry.

4. Extra non-relevant job experience is not rewarded. You may get only 2 years IT experience credit.

5. Nobody can claim that the policy is being revised and will be changed in November (till it is officially published). Overall processing time is already increasing day by day as the number of applicants is increasing. If (a big IF) there really is a change in policy in future, my assumption is that it would pertain to opening up of NOC categories and increasing the processing time!

1. Private degrees from HEC recognized institution are acceptable and reward points.

2. Regarding Extra non-relevant job experience, it is requested that no experience is extra and non-relevant for the purpose of immigration. Relevancy of education and work experience is NOT required to earn points for your years of experience. Applicant will get points for all experiences that fall in Skill level O, A and B of NOC and that are within last 10 years
So be careful a little bit while advising something here, my courtesy

Dear SK,

1. Same on first point. Please read my first statement again and understand what it says. I say the same ~ (or equivalent study), and I cut/paste the educational points statement from official website to avoid mixing of words. Its good that you further elaborate that HEC recognized degrees are accepted by CHC. I guess you just misunderstood the meaning of my statement.

2. What is her NOC cat under which she is claiming the work experience? Is it IT or is it something to do with Advertisement? We need to clear this ambiguity first. She is a graduate in Comp. Science. It is Not true that relevancy of education and work experience is NOT required to earn points for your years of experience. You need to have a degree in Finance to apply in finance category, or likewise for some other work experience you need related educational qualifications. You say that, "Applicant will get points for all experiences that fall in Skill level O, A and B of NOC and that are within last 10 years", which itself means that one should have experience in a particular NOC, and not an accumulation of  different NOC categories, all totaling to 6 years of ever work done in one's entire life with in last ten years. She will have all six years work experience if she did IT related work in IT sector for two years + worked on IT related job in Advertisement industry. Extra non-relevant job experience would here mean that it had nothing to do with IT related NOC. So here too I find that you probably missed the essence of my statement.

3. I respect your statement, "So be careful a little bit while advising something here, my courtesy". ~ No comments.

Regards.

To get points for one particular NOC applicant don,t need to fulfill Employment Requirements for that NOC, listed  to get points.
These Employment Requirements are NOT for the people who claim points for that NOC, for the purpose of Immigration, rather these requirements are for getting job in that particular NOC once you are in Canada.

National Occupation Classification (NOC) is a list with different individual NOCs for each occupation which are further classified as Skill Level O, A, B,C and D. So all your NOCs under which points are claimed must be either in Skill level O, A or B to get points. One can have two experiences of different NOCs with different type of jobs to claim points but these must be in Level O, A or B.
To get points as a finance manager you don,t need a degree in Finance. People are good Finance Manager here with B.A qualification and years of experience in Finance. Our contractors are very good Construction Managers without any formal degree but with a lot of experience so they will get points for that. So if one gets a bachelor degree in computer science and two years of IT experience and after that gets some job related to advertisement, he/she will still get points for both NOCs, the NOC for the IT job and NOC for advertisement job, if in Skill level O, A or B.

Here is the NOC Matrix to better understand Skill Levels

SK,

This discussion can go on for ever, but I would like to cut it short, right here, now.

Thanks.

Dear Sis Mary83,

You asked about the procedure for police certificate yesterday. Please go to DPO's office in Rawalpindi (next to district courts) and ask for police certificate clerk/room. The person there will give you a blank form to complete and also guide you about the procedure. There is no fee for this form or the certificate.

Best regards,

Dear Aaj,

Please clear me about your ecas status and the date of immigration officer reply after submitting your full application;

If there are two lines in the status, upper one reading "Withdrawn" and the lower one reading "In Process", then you need not worry. The withdrawn thing has confused so many, including me, on the forum, but probably it is for the NS status. They are 'off-loading'. The CHC Islamabad is still maintaining your file and inshahAllah you should hear positive from them soon.

Manj

Hello, need to discuss a problem. I applied under 0213 in Jan 2009, received acceptance in Feb 2009 from Sydney Nova Scotia. Sent documents to embassy in Pakistan in April 2009 (without IELTS, as I opted written submission), received reply from Immigration Officer that, you secured 10 for age, 21 for experience, 25 for education and 4 for adaptability, results to 60 points. Officer did not accept written submission and gave ZERO points in laguage. Officer gave final chance to submit IELTS. IELTS result submitted on Sep 05, 2009 with (6 in writing, 6.5 in listening, 7 in reading and 8 in speaking) which according to CIC website results in 12 points. If totals with 60 then it will become 72 points, corsses 67 requirement.

Online status of application shows that decission made and case withdrew on september 12, 2009.

What to do now, as I have sent IELTS result on Sep 05, 2009. I am afraid of the result is being delivered to the key person or not?

Any help please.

Dear Manj, please see details as follows:

Case submitted to CIC Sydney Nova Scotia: 14 Jan 2009
Received eligibility complete and case file transferred ti ebmassy in ISB : 29 Jan 2009
Letter received fmbassy ISB asking for documents including passports and IELTS : 15 Feb 2009
I sent all documents with passports and written submission (instead of IELTS) : 15 April 2009 (within 120 days)
Receieved reply from ISB ebmassy (with returning of all documents including passports) that you are unable to get 67 points. However as officer did not accept the written submission therefore allows you to go finally for IELTS. submit result within 90 days. Letter received on 03 July 2009.
I registered for IELTS for Aug 22, 2009 and sent result to them on September 05, 2009.
Current status on CIC website is: Withdrawn, on first line and Decission Made, on second line.

Any help regarding this Dear Manj and Dear Hot-Lier
Thanks for your replies.

Dear aajj,

I am not an expert myself and it is out of just related experiences I share my views with you. My intent is not to discourage anyone, but help wherever possible. To accept or reject is entirely your own choice!

As you state; " Current status on CIC website is: Withdrawn, on first line and Decision Made, on second line", my assumption is that your second line states the local CHC's decision. Under the old system of evaluation, unless the medicals were done, this generally referred to rejection of the case. First line "withdrawn" is normal as NS is closing those files whose cases were handed over to local CHCs. You did not mention in your message if you were given any deadline (date) to submit your IELTS result.

I would, however, suggest that you immediately FAX Islamabad CHC and :

1. Inform them that you have noticed the change in status online and you have not been informed of the decision.
2. Inform them that you took IELTs on (__/__/2009) on CHC's specific instructions vide their letter No. ____ dated _____,  and submitted the original result to CHC on (__/__/2009) through courier (Courier name, date and tracking/Receipt No.)
3. Inform them that you feel concerned as CHC did not acknowledge receipt of IELTS results which was a pre-requisite by them for eligibility of language points.
4. Ask for an update on your case.

Wish you good luck,

Manj

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op06-eng.pdf

OP 6 Section 6.1
Note: For the purpose of skilled worker applications  "Employment Requirements" listed in the description of each occupation are not applicable.

Section 10.12 states
Experience can be calculated by adding up the number of weeks of full time work i.e 37.5 hours per week in one job or a total of 37.5 hours per week in more than one job, in one or more of the NOC categories

not take into account whether the applicant meets "Employment Requirement" description set forth in the NOC for the occupation (s) listed
