Senior members,

I need a bit of help here. I have three questions:

1. I have a two-year degree, private B.A. (Comp. Sceince & Mathematics). Would private B.A. be acceptable or not? There is nothing mentioned on the degree as to whether or not I was private or regular. So will I get 20 points for 14 years education or not?

2. My work experience in IT sector was of 2 years, but then I switched my industry to advertising. My cumulative work experience is more than 6 years. Will I get points for 2 years of skilled work (IT catagory) only or 4 years collective? Someone has told me that even if I have 1 year experience of skilled catagory work, CHC will account for the extra non-relevant job experience as well (in my case it's IT for 2 years and advertising for 4 years).

3. I have been told that the policy is being revised and will be changed in November. Any clue if the overall processing time will be increased?

Please reply, will be grateful for any help.

Dear Aaj,

Please clear me about your ecas status and the date of immigration officer reply after submitting your full application;

If there are two lines in the status, upper one reading "Withdrawn" and the lower one reading "In Process", then you need not worry. The withdrawn thing has confused so many, including me, on the forum, but probably it is for the NS status. They are 'off-loading'. The CHC Islamabad is still maintaining your file and inshahAllah you should hear positive from them soon.

Manj

Hello, need to discuss a problem. I applied under 0213 in Jan 2009, received acceptance in Feb 2009 from Sydney Nova Scotia. Sent documents to embassy in Pakistan in April 2009 (without IELTS, as I opted written submission), received reply from Immigration Officer that, you secured 10 for age, 21 for experience, 25 for education and 4 for adaptability, results to 60 points. Officer did not accept written submission and gave ZERO points in laguage. Officer gave final chance to submit IELTS. IELTS result submitted on Sep 05, 2009 with (6 in writing, 6.5 in listening, 7 in reading and 8 in speaking) which according to CIC website results in 12 points. If totals with 60 then it will become 72 points, corsses 67 requirement.

Online status of application shows that decission made and case withdrew on september 12, 2009.

What to do now, as I have sent IELTS result on Sep 05, 2009. I am afraid of the result is being delivered to the key person or not?

Any help please.

amerzd> Private degree (though from recognized university) is not encouraged by CHC, others please comment ...

2. My work experience in IT sector was of 2 years, but then I switched my industry to advertising. My cumulative work experience is more than 6 years. amerzd> Only belonging with IT is not enough. An applicant must have atleast one year experience of IT Manager - 0213 from the past 10 years. This NOC only enables you to qualify to forward application. As your total experience is over 6 years to you can get maximum points in this factor e.g. 21 points.

3. I have been told that the policy is being revised and will be changed in November. Any clue if the overall processing time will be increased?

amerzd> This true that overall processing time is being increased day by day due to increasing number of applications. Regarding policy change I have no idea for sure. Others please comment...

Hi Ayesha,

1. Welcome.

2. You can't get 'a bit' of help here, you get load full.Smiley

3. You need ~• A university degree of two years or more at the Bachelor's level, AND at least 14 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study to get 20 points. If it was full time (or equivalent) 14 years in class rooms, then you get these 20 points, otherwise not, sorry.

4. Extra non-relevant job experience is not rewarded. You may get only 2 years IT experience credit.

5. Nobody can claim that the policy is being revised and will be changed in November (till it is officially published). Overall processing time is already increasing day by day as the number of applicants is increasing. If (a big IF) there really is a change in policy in future, my assumption is that it would pertain to opening up of NOC categories and increasing the processing time!

Best wishes.

My file at Nova Scotia too closed, or as it says on Ecas; "withdrawn" on 15th September, 2009. The update was carried out on 22nd September 2009.

Local CHC status remains unchanged.

First line "Withdrawn" and then reads:

We received your application for permanent residence on December 24, 2008.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on January 13, 2009. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We withdrew your application on September 12, 2009 and your file has been closed.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

Second Line "In Process" and then reads:

We started working on your case from June 5, 2009.

Lets see what is the outcome without my medical or PA.

Yes, you need to get it translated into English, and then get it stamped/signed from the notary public. Both these things can be done at district court areas where translators and notary public sit. In Pindi, they are somewhere close to Saddar/Cinepac cinemas, and in Islamabad they are in F-8 Markaz. This will resolve your birth certificate issue.

You will need to have your Marriage Certificate also translated in case it is in Urdu.

if you are in Karachi, then near civic centre with the notary public people, you can very conviniently have such translations made, they have the format and everything, and they will notarize it for you too.

Yes Deffinatelly you have to get each and every Document translated in English or French (From a third party and authorised translater) and attested by Notary public. You can have it from Rawalpindi Kecheri (Courts). Aab Para Market Islamabad or F-8 Markaz (Ayub Market) Islamabad very easily.
