Hi friends,
I m new here
Following is my score i calculated through cic.gc

1 Education 20/25 (i have BSCS, 16 years education)
2 Language Ability 2/24 (i dont have IELTS, thts y i scored myself 2)
3 Work Experience 19/21 (Sofware Engineer, i have overlapping experience so i discarded one year)
4 Age 10/10
5 Arranged Employment 9/10 (i do have offer letter from Canadian employer)
6 Adaptability 9/10
Total Score 70/100

Now my questions are

- is my score calculation correct?
- as i am scoring more than pass marks, should i have to take IELTS exams to prove my proficiencies in English?
- also i am software engineer, under NOC 2173 ( but not listed under minister's 38 list, but i have AEO). Is it a problem?
- i have overlapping work experience, i mean one year job during study. Should i count it.
- whether my case will go to nova scotia for pre evaluation or i have to directly apply in Canadian embassy Islamabad Pakistan.

Please some body give me the answers as i am eager to file my case ASAP.

Dears,
Salam to All,
I want to apply for Canada immigration. Following are my particulars
Education: B.E Electrical/Telecom (4 years)
Work Experience: 5 years
Profession: Telecom Expert (Value added services) for GSM/CDMA/IMS etc
Current resident country: China
Age: 29
Adaptability: 3 points for spouse
Available funds: >13K$
Language: English (need to pass IELTS)
As per criteria, I am eligible to apply for immigration under skilled worker. I need your guidance regarding some issues
1. My Degree and experience doesn't fall under 38 categories which are mentioned on the CIC website for the quick process (12 months). As I have seen it's under code 0211 as "senior manager telecom services”. My question is how long it will take to process my application (12 months or up to 5 years as per old rule)?
2. If anyone who has similar circumstances and already applied, please contact with me through"adeelakram.tanoli @ hotmail.com" I shall really appreciate his/her guidance.
3.For the whole process, what I understand from all discussions that , one need to send initial forms+ Passport copies+ Photos+ fee+ Address label(English and Chinese in my case). After initial reply, we need to prepare other related documents as mentioned by Hot-Lier in reply#75.Please correct me if I am wrong?
3. Is there any difference if I apply from Beijing or Islamabad? I mean which one would be quicker?
4. Do I need to go through any consultant or apply it independently? As one of consultant in Canada told me that he will process my case in 12 months and his fee would be 3500$. But as I have seen from your discussions, it's not a big rocket science which one can not do alone , but one of my friend is insisting that consultant is better as rules are changing everyday so we can't follow up due to busy schedule so I am confused bit, I need your suggestion regarding that.
Finally I would like to thanks to all of you for sharing a useful information specially to Hot-Lier who has initiated this forum -
Please stay in touch
May Allah swt help and bless us all and our Pakistan

Regards

Adeel

Hi Adeel tanoli......If you dont fall in those 38 professions then it is useless to apply for immigration. Your initial application will be returned back without any further consideration. Keep visiting www.cic.gc.ca and wait till new professions added.

Hi Adeel,

You do not need to disappoint as this list will be reviesed soon. This is quite possible that your NOC will be in new list.

Hi,

Two of my friends had also applied in July 2008 and Aug 2008 respectively, thier NOCs do not fall in current 38 categories. They are also waiting for any response. Their cases are similar to yours as your application has been forwarded to CIO, NS CA.

I had asked them to contact CHC Islamabad for their cases as it's been too lonk and all new applicants are getting responses from CHC. As soon as I get any news from them i will post here for all those who are in the same boats.

you will mention the visa office of your home country. if you are from pakistan, then the visa office is islamabad. if you are currently not living in pakistan and have been legally admitted to another country for a minimum period of one year, then you can mention the visa office of that country. the choice is yours.

Can i select any other country where i can go and give interview there ? I am Pakistani and currently living in pakistan. Can i mention London office for application processing ?  Suppose if i mention London, will i have to provide some proof that i have lived in London for one year.

Please also tell me an idea that how long will it take if i mention Islamabad Office.

My Details are as follows :

Education :  Masters : MBA - Finance , BS - Computer Engineering
Expereicne: 7 Years ( Computer and Infomration Systems )
Spouse Education : MCS
Spouse Uncle in canada
Language : I will give IELTS after applying
Age  : 30

you should mention islamabad office as you are currently living in pakistan. you could only mention london if you were currently living in london and had been legally admitted into london for a minimum period of one year. no one can say how long this will take. but as per CIC, all the skilled worker applications under the  new rules should take 6-12 months for the completion.
