Dear Seniors,

I applied in May 2010 and sent my complete set of docs in Feb 2011.

The london office sent me a courier in Aug 2011 stating that they have received my documents and they will review and let me know accordingly. (and it was mentioned that incase if I don't receive any information in 8 months, i am suppose to contact them).

Recently my estatus changed to "in process" on April 10 2012. Can you tell me what would be the next step? and how much more time is expected?

Regards,
Asad

You better send an email to direct address not via web portal and ask them what is your application status and tell them you did not reveive any letter since Aug 2011.

Under proposed legislation, CIC will close the files of FSW applicants who applied before February 27, 2008, and for whom an immigration officer has not made a decision based on selection criteria by March 29, 2012. This is expected to affect around 280,000 applicants, including their dependants. CIC will begin the process of returning the full amount of fees paid to the Department by these affected FSW applicants. For those who have passed the selection criteria stage – approximately 20,000 people – CIC will continue processing their applications until they are approved for entry into Canada or not.

Dear All,

I dont know whether this is to early to discuss it here. But if rules are changed by CIC and they want to appply it retrospectively that what will be the fate of MI 1 applicants who has not received any decision on their files before. Isn't this a cruel act from them. Also we are not sure in what sequence they are reviewing the files. Applicants with the same timelines are receiving different responses from London. Some in the form of meds, document updates and some with the letter to wait for 6 to 12 months. What about majority of those who are still waiting for any response. Will those applicants be axed under new rules? What the hell they are up to? Sad Sad
This sure is a depressing situation here. However I think we all should keep our hopes high and think positive. I think sequence of response depends upon NOC and your respective assigned VO (this is just my point of view).

One of the applicant received the following enquiry back from LVO:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Instructions were received from Citizenship and Immigration Headquarters on April 4, 2012 instructing officers not to start or continue processing any Federal Skilled Worker application received before February 27, 2008 for which a Selection Decision had not been made prior to March 29, 2012. Upon review of your file, we note that a Selection Decision had not been made before March 29, 2012.

These are interim instructions. You may wish to consult Citizenship and Immigrations web site (www.cic.gc.ca) for new media releases and further information. You will be contacted regarding the next steps at a later time.

We thank you for your patience and for keeping correspondence to a minimum,
