No dear you are not getting personal , I have stated in my earlier post that I am not prepared for immigration right now due to some family as well as professional reasons. Family reasons are private so I exercise my right of privacy, please don't mind. Regarding professional reasons, well I am working as G.M Finance in a group of companies and have a settled career in Pakistan. I am reasonably well paid and have perks and benefits which I cannot dream of getting in Canada at least for few years. From the information I have gathered its not easy to penetrate in the Canadian market, infact it is very very difficult to find a decent job without getting their local qualifications and experience. So I need to do lot of home work before I go there and for which I need time. Therefore I decided to visit Canada as a tourist stay there for one month get my PRC and SIN and also G1 Driving license return to Pakistan, do the home work and then try my luck in Canada. I do not want to spoil the celebrations but guys initial period of at least one year in Canada will be very demanding, I know few MBA's working as Cabbies, ACCA's working at burger shop and ACMA's working in grocery shops. Infact only last week i met a mechanical engineer who has returned from Canada after one year and all he did was to work as guard in security company, and he told me to learn how to make biryani so that we can open a take away in Mississauga and I have asked my mother to give me some cooking lessons Please do not be discouraged after reading this post, its good to be mentally prepared before going in the new market , most of the immigrants have benefited from migrating its just initial period of year or two which need to be taken care of, after that its smooth sailing . These are the words of my friend who lives in Mississauga; “Those who survive first two years in Canada, live here permanently and those who run away in these two years never came back” Regards hey mrs y are you taking return ticket if not getting to personal???

Visa expiry depends on your medicals. Medicals are valid for one year, so your visa also expires one year after the medicals were done. I had my medicals done on 10th July 2009 so my visa expires on 10th July 2010. asa i am a new user of this form......congrats to all of those who have got there visas and prayer for the ones waiting.... very encouraged to see that ...we could be so helpful to each other specially in this era.......
If possible the one who has got visa stamped i guess imran or another person ....could you tell me that how much time is there on your visa in which you have to enter canada....will be posting questions off and on...an will try to be of help in anyway possible....thanks take care ah

Imran_Ali: You can open US$ foreign currency account in any bank and they will give you DD in CAD$ without any hassle. Now interesting part is you have to convert all your Rupees into US$ first as bank dont sell dollars they just buy dollars:) Normally bank deals in USD, GBP and EURO foreign currency accounts. Lets wait for other alternate options...........................Any one who can throw more ideas.............

I second to M.R.S suggestions. PIA is the most affordable option at this time as its not stop (14 hours journey), 62000 Rs. single fare including taxes, u can add additional luggage (20+10=30Kg). from Islamabad weekly flights on every Friday and from Karachi and Lahore weekly flights on every Tuesday so you can plan accordingly twice a week opportunity. You can purchase online tickets from piac.com.pk without going to any agent. DD draft can also be made from Money changers without opening any foreign account. but i would recommend to open a US$ account. convert all your money into US$ . get a DD and then close that account. Best way is to open a foreign currency account in a bank which does not charge much for making D.D and then ask the bank to make a D.D payable at any bank in Toronto Canada. in this way it will be easy for you to cancel and redeposit the D.D in your bank account in Pakistan in case you do not need funds in Canada. And you can also deposit the same D.D in your account in Canada. Regarding Air ticket, the best option is PIA as it is a direct flight of 14 hours the return fare is around Rs.103,000/-, the fare of Emirates via Dubai is Rs.105,000/- and air fare of Turkish airline via Istanbul is Rs. 89,000/- and 95,000/- depending on when you are travelling. The problem with Turkish airline is that they have connections problem and on return you need to have at least 24 hours stay at Istanbul airport although they provide free hotel also. I have made reservation on Turkish airline for Oct 16 the fare is 89,000/- I will get the transit visa which cost around 3500/- so that I can make a day tour of Istanbul on return. Hope this helps @ shanbaba Thanks and remember me in your prayers There are two more issues left to be sorted out :
1>Proof of fund at the time of landing,How should I go about that? I have thought of making Bnak Draft payable to me of around 10,000 CAD and carry 1000 CAD as cash in hand, what u uys think, secodnly is there anyone who can help me in making such Draft with minimum exchange rates,if any one can guide me that how should i do that,it will be really helpful
2>Ticket,Anyone knows someone in Air-Ticketing who can arrange Ticket for as minimum amount as possible,
Pls help me in these two issues........
@ MRS Thanks man ,congrats to u too

M.R.S is absolutely right. People have high dreams when they come to "Land of opportunities". Canadians are not welcoming to hiring immigrants easily. Employer will ask for canadian qualification and once you get that, next question will be do you have canadian experience. People coming at young age and spending few years in uni upgrading themselves are usually successful in future. I studied for few years in Canada before landing in IT job. and dont forget about winter
