Mail Clerk

A competition will be held to staff the position of Mail Clerk on a permanent basis in the Management section of the Canadian High Commission in Islamabad. This position is classified at Level LE02, with a starting salary of PKR 27,438 per month, plus health care and other benefits.

This competition is open to all persons legally residing in Pakistan.

The Government of Canada is an equal opportunity employer.

Summary of Duties

Under the immediate direction of the Program Manager's Assistant, provides mail services to the mission, provides messengers services in accordance to with established procedures and work schedules, and performs other related duties.

Essential Requirements

Graduation from a recognized institution (14 years of education)
Good oral, and written abilities in English, and Urdu. Knowledge of French will be an Asset.
Proficiency in MS office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other computer applications
Experience in a client service environment
Minimum of one year experience of mail handling in an office environment
Desirable Qualifications

Ability to read / write / speak other Pakistani languages
Good translation and interpretation skills
Possess valid Pakistani driving licence.
Be able to work under pressure.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

A valid work permit for foreign nationals

The appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to Medical Clearance and Reliability Status Check (RS) obtained by Management. To conduct the Reliability Status Check (RS), the candidate must submit the following documents on being selected by the Mission.

Police clearance certificate;
professional and educational mark sheets and certificates;
passport, or Pakistani ID card;
3 x Passport photos;
letter(s) of reference

they are taking about 5 months these days to send PER from CIO...... what you can do is to call their CIC call center on +16139444000 and check with them...they most probably will be able to tell you the date CIO is working right now or let u know if there is any development in your case like PER issuance etc.. keep checking junk folder of ur email if you have given them your email in the forms..

they are taking about 5 months these days to send PER from CIO...... what you can do is to call their CIC call center on +16139444000 and check with them...they most probably will be able to tell you the date CIO is working right now or let u know if there is any development in your case like PER issuance etc.. keep checking junk folder of ur email if you have given them your email in the forms..

I sent my initial application in Dec 09 under 4131 and got acceptance in March 10, latter on I submitted my full application in June 10 in UK office. At present my status is in in process

I have my bachelor degree from Allama iqbal open university (through distance education) latter on I did my masters from Islamia University Bhawalpur (A two year programme in campus) my spouse is having a bachelor degree from PU
my IELTS score is as under Listening 7,Reading 5.5,speaking 7.0 writing 6.5 my age is 39 and experience is above10 years,

In my view all above put my score up to 69, I want to ask the question will they consider my bachelor degree (secured through distance edu) in final stage? and will award they me 22 points against my qualification and will I avail 4 points of Bachelor degree of my spouse.?

in your case your last regular master's degree will be considered which i persume was a regular study program....as far as BA as a private candidate of your spouse is concerned...its still a controversial topic....OP6 manual sheds light on this subject... Please find below the relevant paragraphs..so based on this my personal assesment is that BA as private candidate should fetch points...

R 78(1) defines ―full-time equivalent‖ in respect of part-time or accelerated studies, the period that
would have been required to complete those studies on a full-time basis. In these cases, officers
should award points for the credential and years of study that would have been required to complete
the studies at the time the application is made.
Pursuant to R77, officers should award points for the credential and years of study that the
applicant has completed at the time the application is made. If further study is completed and
documentation submitted between application and assessment, officers must award the points for
the highest educational credential obtained at the time of assessment.
A distance learning credential is eligible for points as long as it meets the definition of a credential
as outlined in R73. If the credential is not described in terms of number of years duration (i.e.,
three-year bachelor‘s degree), officers should apply the definition of full-time equivalent study and
knowledge that the visa office has acquired on local education institutions and credentials.

by the way does your eCAS In process status has processing dates inside i.e. we reviewed your application and started processing on date/month/year or is still review pending inside???
