Ottawa, August 21, 2009 — The Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, issued the following statement recognizing the start of the month of Ramadan:

“The holy month of Ramadan, which begins tomorrow, takes place during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, the month in which the Qur'an is believed to have been revealed to the Prophet Mohammed (SAW).

“It is a time of great reflection for Muslims as they are called upon to fast, worship, pray, and read the Qur'an. Fasting during the month of Ramadan is, in fact, one of the five pillars of Islam.

“Such observance is intended to foster generosity and understanding, as Ramadan is also a month of giving, sharing, and socializing.

“I encourage all Canadians to use this month as an opportunity to learn about Islam, and to reflect on the tremendous contributions that Muslims have made to this country's rich and diverse heritage.

“As Prime Minister Harper has said, ‘Our government considers diversity one of this country's greatest assets and we are committed to strengthening both our pluralism and our national unity.'

“As Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, I wish a solemn and peaceful Ramadan to all Muslims.

“Ramadan Mubarak.”

most of u are having last ramzan in pakistan, as next ramzan u will be in cn inshallah.
i request u to make good use of this last oppurtunity and spare n spend a good amount of time in ibadat.
read translation of Quran, if u can. it will really open ur mind and broad ur horizen.
or u can attend traveeh with translation, in one month u will learn a lot about ur religion.

Dear Members..

Its nice to see such active group helping each other to sort things out.

i want to know some issues with experience letter.

I worked in some defence organization as engineeer in pakistan , there i have only employment letter , pay slips etc, but they will not give me the experience letter mentioning all details of job etc.
so any explanantion will be fine in that case..
and another thing will it affect my chances for immigration as i worked in some defence related organization.

please advice..
any other members who applied with such back grounds , i need their suggestions as well.
