I have already written my experience in previous post,I am pasting it again for u,
attended the Pre-departure seminar today,although it was vey informative but the attitude of attendees was very annoying,they seemed to be a PROUD CANADIAN but not so in case of Pakistan,kept using bad words for Pakistan,now i see how one forget roots and AUQAAT when ALMIGHTY ALLAH blesses him what he doesnt deserve at all,i felt that majoirty of people were living in a dream world,i really wanna see these people live in canada,what they really do ince they land there.
As far as seminar is concerned,it was very good,covered every aspect of canadian lifestyle,finding jobs etc.With that speaker also gave some individual useful advices, there were two important things I learnt from that semiar:
1>You can get ur child in School the very next moment u land in canada,there is no restriction that u should wait for the start of the term(which usually starts in September),they will adjust the child accordingly,even if ur child is nearing the end of term and u have to go to canada,u can take him with u and get him in the school system of canada.Public school system is excellent in canada.You dont have to pay anything for ur child education upto Grade 12.With that there will be some amount given by Canadian government to child below 18 and that amount is transected into only Mother's Account.
2>At the time of landing u need to have Bank Draft as a proof of fund,Bank Statement wont do good for this thing,immigration officials rarely looks for Proof of fund but if they do ,they wanna see proof of fund in form of Bank Draft,Cash but not in the form of Bank Statement of ur account in Pakistan,I dont know if its true?
3>The things u do firstly after landing are:
-Give Driving Exam,there are two parts,one is written and other the driving test,result shows that women are better driver in Canada as their Passing Percentage is way above Men (Purchase a Booklet which will help u in passing driving test_
-Obtain SIN number ,u can get that by filling application forms available at HRSDC Centres and there are manty HRSDC centres so just locate one near ur residence and apply for SIN number.
-Apply for Health Card
-Dont leave Canada until u have PR card with u.
-there is a website on internet,google workopolis.com,it will surely help in finding job before u land
4>Do any work available,dont hesitiate if it doesnt matches with ur level
5>Winter in canada starts from the month of September and ends in the month of April
6>Never turn off the heater in night ,cuzz in the morning u will become an ice cube
7>Be realistic,dont make castles in the air,try not to forget ur Identity and AUQAAT which almost everyone in this seminar has forgotten
8>Dont take Basement or House once u land ,try to rent an Apartment,it will do wonders for u

driving license: please take you pakistani driving license with you this will give you a chance in getting sooner driving test date as compare to those who are fresh.
Regarding kids: you will get more money from govt of Canada the more younger your kids are
