Hello,

I have heard AEO IELTS test is easier compare to British Councils once?

I notice their is fees difference also. AEO charging Rs 11,000 While British council Charging Rs 9,300 for GT IELTS.

Do AEO provide any more facilties? Then why AEO is more expensive than british council while offering the same exam pattern?

Waiting for your reply,
Salman

Sir,

Thanks for your enquiry. As you may be aware, The University of Cambridge, British Council and IDP: IELTS Australia own and deliver IELTS. In Pakistan IDP: IELTS Australia has a strategic Alliance with AEO for test delivery. Hence, while the BC has to cover the Cambridge central fee only, AEO has to cover the Cambridge central fee as well as the IDP management fee. In addition there have been currency depreciation as well as inflationary pressures owing to which the AEO fee is currently a bit higher.

AEO try it  best to provide the  candidates  excellent testing environment  in the examination hall, ie  sound  quality, Speaking  test  environment,  staff behaviors  other  services  related to the candidates  registration this  may cause to increase the  efficiency of  candidates.  IELTS is the same conducted by AEO and BC
I have recieved email from AEO. Why there is general perception that AEO IELTS is easier compare to British Council?

Hi all,

My application status:
Sent application to Sydney NS: 26th April 2009
Received AOR/recommendation from Sydney: 02 June 2009

Now i am facing great trouble. I can't send full application to islamabad since i have not taken IELTS and French exams yet and on my inquiry French Alliance told me that it would take a year to pass Basic french level 1 to 3 and later needed to appear in TEF exam too. I have only 120 days and it seems to me better if i withdrawl my case and apply again.

Any sugguestions? I am afraid in near future they would change 38 occupations. And without French i can't qualify for 67 points. What should i do now? How long would it take to get my fees back? and how to say to them return my fees? I have sent them email but they are not replying.

Name: Muhammad Salman

Age: 24

Nationality: Pakistani

Profession: Petroleum Engineer

Education: BS Petroleum Engineering & Management

Working experience: less than two years

Languages: Advance English/ Basic French (Need to pass exams)

My sister is Canadian citizen living in Edmonton

Avaiable funds: CAD $ 12000

Going by the information you provided, you do seem to qualify without having to claim points for French. However you will need to obtain maximum possible  (16) points for English

I am assuming you have a 4 years bachelor degree. Yes you will get 22 points for that.

Your work experience of less than 2 years will get you 15 points as long as its more than 1 year and within your nominated occupation.

You will get 10 points for your age

And you will get 5 points for your family (sister) in Canada

Your total score is: 68

I would suggest to give yourself 1 month to thoroughly prepare for IELTS and aim to attain a score of minimum 7.0 in each band. This will allow you to claim 16 points for English.

Good luck!

Profession: Petroleum Engineer
Petroleum Engineer cannot be deleted from the list in the worst cases because it is still in high demand.
My sister is Canadian citizen living in Edmonton
Why don,t you try AINP Family Stream
I am assuming you have a 4 years bachelor degree. Yes you will get 22 points for that.
Four years Bachelor degree plus 16 years of education shall give 20 points. You need a master degree plus 16 years to get 22.

A Masters degree + 4 years bachelor degree makes a total of 17 years of education (18 years in case of 2 years Master program) This will award 25 points not 22.

A 4 years bachelors program makes a total of 16 years of education in Pakistan. Thus he is eligible to claim 22 points. Do a self assessment at this link:

I agree with Pakistan that you must consider AINP family stream in place of FSW1 because you hardly qualify for FSW1 but you may well qualify for AINP family stream. You can get more information regarding this at the following link:

You can do a self assessment at this link

She could sponsor me if she had $15,000 in cash or working somewhere. She is housewife and does not have $15,000
And it is not possible for me to give her $15,000 since i have to show $10,000 for myself.

And i talked to many people they say if i have any of the following case then i can get 22 points otherwise not.

Obtained a three-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship (other than university) and completed at least 15 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies

Obtained two or more university degrees at the bachelor's level and completed at least 15 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies

So please make sure 16 years of total education gives me 22 points or not?

Because CIC website says if i Obtained a university degree of two years or more ( i have 4 years degree )at the bachelor's level and completed at least 14 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies then i can claim only 20 points.

I am confuse.

If my degree matter solves then i just need to pass IELTS with 7 band and i can qualify for immigration.

Please advice me in this regard. I am afraid i can't obtain 7 bands in IELTS...Lack of Confidence

You have 16 years of education but not a three year diploma other than university so cannot claim 22.
You do not have two university degrees but have 16 years of education so you still cannot get 22.
To get points keep in mind AND in any criteria.. you need to see level of education AND years of study to get points
In your case you will get 20 points not 22

You will get PCC from every district where you have lived more than six months since 18 years of age

I really need to have a very serious advice from seniors. As if you will see my time line...

Applied on: 16th, June 2008
AOR:         22 August, 2008
Documents Requested: 31st, Jan 2009
Documents Sent: 4th, May 2009
Till to date: No Reply

The issu is that i had a missunderstanding while submmiting the Dcuments about the IELTS score. I calculated my poits as 70 in total with

Age: 10
Exp: 21
Edu: 22
Spouse edu: 3
IELTS bAND: Speaking: 6.5, Writing. 6.5, Listning 6.5 and writing 7.5 with a over all band 7

Problem is that i calculated my IELTS score according to the new Ielts test score dated after 287, November, 2008. that is 14 in total But after submmiting my documents i come to know by the source of this forum that the people that have taken ielts before 28, november 08 will be awarded points according to the old ielts test report rule. according to old rule the total score is 10. In short according to this my total score would be 66. I also have cleaimed basic french profecency bec of my 2 month scource with alliance francaise. that i just considered as bonus but now i am doubtful that might be they will not consider this of my french score bec i have't done tef.

What is your advise that should i withdraw the application and apply according the new rule.i did my ielts on 24, july, 2008. it is valid? and what is your sufggestion to withdraw my application and apply again with new IELTS score rule with the same result or new IELTS exam.

Please advice me i am very much confued about the whole situation.

According to my information from this forum, if one has IELTS before new instructions, then the visa officer shall give the points that will be beneficial for applicant.. In your case u can get 10 according to old scheme and 14 according to new one. so visa office shall give you 14 instead of 10... Please see OP 6 for details. this information is mentioned there that applicant shall be awarded points that would be beneficial for him..

Note: Visa officers should also assess applications and test reports which pre-date November 28, 2008,
against the above correlation table if it is to the applicants advantage, i.e., resulting in more points
for language proficiency.

This text from OP6 is really important and encourging.

Thanks pakistan for your valuable advice and i am quite confident to qualify again ......May Allha keep all of us to move forward to next steps.
