Hello all,
I received my Medicals Request (MR) two weeks ago from CHC London via TCS. Almost missed it, as TCS does NOT deliver the package but rather calls you to their office to collect it (with original passport/NIC etc). They kept calling on my home phone which went unanswered for two days. Luckily I was in during their third call.
Inside the package were two form letters, Medical Forms for my family, plus some returned originals(my Police Certificates, IELTS report, Children's Birth Certificates, University Transcripts etc.). The first form letter instructed me to provide the following documents within 60 days. There followed a VERY long list (which went over two pages) but luckily the ONLY two items checked on my form letter were (a) Medical Reports, and (b) Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF). The second form letter gave instructions on how to arrange the Medical appointment. There was also an enclosure on how to prepare the RPRF draft, and a reply label.
From the above, I can conclude that at the time of receiving their Medical Request (MR) some applicants might be required to provide a truckload of repeat documentation (which was mercifully not asked of me). I have no idea why I was spared. Perhaps I did a good job of filling in the forms :-) , or more probably the forms for myself and my family were relatively straightforward with no complications.
I had the RPRF bank draft (for Canadian Dollars 980 made) and couriered back to CHC London ALONG with a copy of the form letter, and then underwent the Medicals Interview. I made it a point to remind the Designated Medical Practitioner (DMP) (i.e. the Doc) that my medical reports were to be forwarded to CHC London and not to New Delhi as per previous procedure for some applicants.
Waiting for the next step now which should be the letter/email from CHC London asking for photographs and copies of current passports. On the other hand, I could get unlucky and get repeat medicals (as some other people on the forum). I'll keep you folks posted.
By the way, there was NO VERIFICATION, or at least none that I am aware of. There were no calls received at my or my spouse's place of work.
Regards,
wbmaple

Hi Congratulations on such a good news by the way don't they call on your cell phone? because my home phone is now dead forever Nope, TCS never called my cellphone - only the home phone. They caught me on their third attempt (in three days). The envelope in which the MR came (an A4 sized brown paper one) had my address AND MY HOME PHONE ONLY typed on its address label. So I guess the TCS people never had my cell phone communicated to them by CHC London. If I were in your place (with a dead home phone number), I would go to the concerned TCS regional office (which forwards such inquiries) and give them my certified NIC copy along with a letter to contact me on my cell number in case any letter came from CHC for the person/address named on the NIC. I would also have contacted CHC to advise them of a new home phone number (unless that delays one's processing too much). Best, wbmaple.

You are living in Pakistan. Don't expect anything like that from them. Nobody is gonna bother and keeping your ID card, cell no and chasing you to reach you if they receive any letter from CHC London or anywhere and its hard for them to keep an eye on your letter. TCS will only contact you if you have any telephone no written on envelope addressed to you. If you don't have home phone no then only provide cell phone no to CHC London so TCS can reach you. Thanks

AOA All seniors here, I have recently got my study permit. I am really not a fit here in this thread but may I sneak in to ask a few questions !
1. At POE do I need to show PROOF OF FUNDS for my entire stay? 2. Can any one assist me with initial stay info in toronto? 3. Any best insurance policy for Pakistani students, if not included in the college fee?
Thanks a lot Pakistani's !

According to my personal experience, I dont think they should ask you for proof of funds at POE. For initial accommodation, pls follow this link: homestayagency.com/apps/hostlist1.php?s_country_id=43&s_state_id=8&s_city_id=41&s_zip_code=&originating_site= If your studies' length is more than 6 months then you'll get social security number which could give you health benefits. Sir, did you update your new address to London CHC (where you are currently residing i.e. Middle East)? If Yes, then the Package should have been delivered to you in person. & If Not, then i suppose you or a family member of yours should contact TCS and inquire, if somehow a Representative can be authorized to collect the package on your behalf via a declaration etc. From the looks of your timeline, the package may contain Medical Tests Request or information of required updated documents. Other members having experience regarding this type of situation can propose a better a solution. HI Seniors, plz suggest or comment .
I sent my documents in Sep 2010 and in Feb 2011 my Status changed to IN PROCESS. IT says Documents been received and pending Review. But i have not received 2nd AOR. I did email and they sent a standard reply that "it will take longer to process Federal Skilled Worker applications submitted under the first set of instructions (between February 27, 2008 and June 25, 2010) than originally projected......"
