Hello Lal je,
i need your advice... i had my admission with me from University of toronto in MSc program last year but since by immigration was not processed , i deferred it till september 2011. now the situation is that my ecase status has just changed to "in process " and i am not sure whether my case would be processed before sept 2011. the course annual fee if i join as an international student is 24k and if i join as PR is almost 8k. i have to submit 60% ( almost 15k) by August 2011 and remianing amount (9k) by feb 2012 ( for first year ). AS per the Admission coordinator, my status and my fees would change the moment my status chnages to PR. its up to me i join now or wait for my PR and join latter.
So i need an advice, whether i should opt for admission as an international student ( apply for student visa) ..? or i should let go my admission and wait for my PR first and apply at a latter stage..?
As you mentioned, as PR you get OSAP . how can i get this ..? i can manage total of 20k canadian dollars which i can survive for a year but i have no funds for second year of study (Msc is a two year program)incase my case will not be finalized by 2011 (as no timelines could be true ). Plz advice
I would suggest to deffer (if possible ) your admission to next semester and wait for your immigration case to approve.(this is my personal openion other seniors may advise/comment). Regarding OSAP, don't worry you will easily get that when become PR and thhe cost of your education will be fully covered under that. even some times if your income from other source in canada is low, outomatically they will give you grant(non refundable). after completing of your studies you will have to pay back the OSAP amount in afordable installments like $125 per month and there is provision that 40% osap will be waived off on request after post graduation or completion of your studies.so much so under OSAP your fare from your residence to university is also covered if you use buss or tain/subway. good luck lalaje |

hi , i want to add my input along with your comments.
as far as opening joint bank account its not good,why? because if you need any financial assistance then you should have credit record and which document proof your credit record , its only your bank statement so if you want to enjoy more financial thing then always open separate account and let me tell you one more benefit if you wan to open any business so you are also want more loan from the bank on your name and also on your wife name separately, so its help you a lot.
regarding for you matter that if you open joint account then any one can operate same account then i have a solution where you don't need to open joint account , there is a authority letter in every bank which is for 2nd authorization if you fill this and authorize your wife to operate you account singly or jointly so its also work same just like joint account .
regarding for G1 exemption you need you country DL which is older then five year and also take one experience certificate from your local traffic dept which show all driving lic details
so on behalf of this they exempt your G1 .
for G2 test preparation you can visit apnacanada .com
Bro.. you are not clear about the procedure. in fact before arrival first of all you have to get NOC/verification certificate from the trafic police headquarter in pakistan. after arrival you will produce that NOC to moter testing office SO they will exempt only the waiting period NOT the G1 test. waiting period means that if you don't have your country's NOC than you have to wait for minimum 8 months to appear for G2. but when you show them the NOC than you can immidiately appear for G2 even on the second day of G1 test. You have to write G1 (written test) and appear for G2 and finally for G there is no exemption. Yes there is one option if you have back home experience in driving and got NOC than after passing G1 you can directly appear for G test BUT I would not advise you for that because it is hard rather difficult to pass G directly. better to go for G2 first. If you have G2 licence you are allowed to drive but the licence will expire after 5 years and you have to go through whole process again.so when you feel you are now good enough in driving than go for G test, lets say after one year of driving in canada. hopefully it will be cleared now  take care lalaje |

I have seen this forum and many Indian guys have come forward so far but never seen any Pakistani who is openly offering help to pakistanis. Bhai jan maaf karna agar app galat samjhay.
