I remember a case where Visa officer rented a house in the same street of the applicant and started living there to check his background. 
These are just GOSSIPS man
RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) is responsible for background checks. They have only 2 employee staff in Pakistan which can not conduct the background checks without the help of local Police. They send the files to respective police stations for the verification of crimnality record and if they feel the need for any other background check then send these files to FIA head office Islamabad. I have seen the files sent by UK border agency in the FIA HQ. It contains one photograph of the applicant with the address slip and a formal request from the High comissionar for co-operation.  FIA staff just keep these files aside for two months and then sends back after 2 or 3 reminders from the embassy.  Whole system works at snail pace.

Wow, what a story. This whole scenario looks like a movie.

Friends I sent query to London Visa Office after 8 months passed to my 2nd AOR letter. I asked them how long further it will take... here is the response that I just got.


This is in response to your enquiry.

 

Unfortunately, it will take longer to process Federal Skilled Worker applications submitted under the first set of instructions (between February 27, 2008 and June 25, 2010) than originally projected.

 

During this time, the department received applications for more than 425,000 people, and 144,000 of these have not yet received a decision.   

 

This number represents more than twice the number of projected admissions under the Federal Skilled Worker program in 2011, so many of these applicants will have to wait two years or more to be processed.   Because they reflect Canada's current labour market needs, applications under the most recent set of ministerial instructions are processed on a priority basis.

 

Our office sends immigration decisions and information requests by post or by email to the mailing and email addresses provided in the application. Therefore, it is important that our office be notified immediately of any change of address and contact details.

 

We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.

My appointment Letters along with the ref letter
My nikahnamas (original and the translation), wedding photographs, birth certificates.
Photocopies of the passports,
Original IELTS result,
every thing that was mentioned in the checklist.

I think they update if any application is complete and all the required documents r given.U can see next update.or u can  go  to ur bank after 14days to check if   ur bank darft is  encashed or not.Hope U completed all the form correctly.can u describe what r the documents u submitted.so tht we can give  opino about ur application

Hi friends,

i sent my complete application as per the post-26 June policy which was recieved at CIC NS on 13-09-2010. i recieved my 1st PER on 05-01-2011 via e-mail and was told that the case is being forwarded to London VO......but till date my e-status shows nothing......neither RVO, or In Process etc.....it just says nothing....

can anybody tell me plz as why it shows nothing and how can i confirm the current status of my application caz the link available at website is guiding me to no direction.....

Non of files are sent to Police stations............For sure

Normally level-1 security checks are done and they are your Police clearance certificates and Level-2 are made for Persons who have some Forces or Government back ground. and it is done by Canadian security agency in Canada......
