Dear All !
I have a query that i have seen here ppl having MBA-Finance Degree and doing works as an Accountant are applying under NOC#1111,but when i saw the education requirement of that NOC CA is required,so my concern is that i also have 1 year Experience as an Accountant,i can also claim point for that
what all u say ?
NOC 1111 is related to accountants and this profession is regulated in Canada, therefore to work in Canada one should have an accounting designation like CGA,CA and CMA's and so is the case in Pakistan where only chartered accountants are allowed to practice accountancy. The definition of Accountant generally used in Pakistan is very different that in Canada, in fact an accountant in Pakistan is equal to the bookkeeper in Canada. Now please do not get offended but if you just see the list of responsibilities in the NOC 1231 (i.e. Bookkeeper) then you will agree that most of the Accountants in Pakistan are performing these responsibilities. Now NOC 1231 is not listed in 38 Occupations list so technically they are not eligible but as you have said that many Accountants have applied in Pakistan but it remains to be seen that they have got positive assessment . However MBA Finance is eligible qualification for NOC 0111 (I.e. Finance Manager ) so why take risk just apply in the NOC which is more relevant. That's my opinion , others can correct me .

Dear MRS you are right ,what ever u said is true, but problem with NOC 0111 is that one's doesn't find his desire designation and need several years of experience, usually people from finance side start working as an accountant...i started as an accountant 1 years back now i am account manager but i didn't find that designation in NOC 0111,now i talk to my HR manager to change my designation on my Experience letter and convert it into accounting manager

No I have not come across any accountant who had got approval. I think you should file your case under NOC 0111 as your designation Accounts Manager has more or less same responsibilities as stated in NOC 0111 and the requirement for immigration is to have one year experience in that occupation. Yes you are right that it take time at least 3 to 4 years to reach at Managerial level and during that time one is just an accountant which is equal to bookkeeper in Canada, as this occupation is not in the 38 occupation list so chances for those who are not at Managerial level are not bright but I must tell you that if you have right qualification and can come up with verifiable experience certificates then you can get immigration and its not impossible.

Dear All aspiring for NOC-1111 & Sub-category:
1-In my opinion to qualify for NOC-1111 & sub-cateogory.one should have atleast 1 years experience in that category and minimum 67 pass marks. 2- Job titles doesn't matter. It is actually the JDs which matter most. If your title is Asstt: Accounts Manager, but ur JDs match with that of book-keeper. You should go apply under book-keeper . 3- Having requisite Accountancy/Finance,etc qualification is a strong point but not the necessaity for applying under NOC-1111 4- In Pakistan not only CAs but also CMAs are allowed to practice accountancy. HOwever both of them have different scopes and limitations. 5- Accountancy is a regulated profession in Canada. That doesn't mean that you must have Canadian CA,CGA,CMA qualification to enter the job markets. These qualifications are must for public practice and other special roles and do give priority in getting job but you can still work in accountacy/Finance functions. 6- A forum member "Honey Born" from Karachi having MBA(Finance) has applied under 0111 & 1111 and got positive assessment.

You can also minimise these 3 months by promptly reply that "you are pleased to continue processing". I think your case will be finalized within 20 to 24 months (this is only my calculation, actual processing time may vary as this is on CHC's descretion).

Ottawa, September 15, 2009 — The Government of Canada will offer special measures to facilitate immigration to Canada for certain local staff who face exceptional risk or who have suffered serious injury as a result of their work for the Canadian government in Kandahar province, Afghanistan.
“There are Afghans who face extraordinary personal risk as a result of their work in support of Canada's mission in Kandahar,” said Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism. “We commend their bravery to help build a better Afghanistan while recognizing the price that they have paid. Their lives and those of their families may be threatened by insurgents, and some have suffered serious injury and can no longer work. To recognize their contribution, we will offer them special consideration if they wish to relocate to Canada.”
The government plans to implement these measures in October 2009. In general, applicants must demonstrate that they face individualized and extraordinary risk or have suffered serious injury as a result of their work with the Canadian government. In addition, the applicant must have worked at least 12 cumulative months in Kandahar in support of the Canadian mission.
Spouses of Afghan nationals killed because of their work with the Canadian government will be eligible. All will have to meet standard immigration requirements, including criminal, medical and security screening. The accompanying dependent children of those who qualify would also be eligible.
Canada's approach is consistent with the objectives of similar programs offered by the United States in Afghanistan and the United Kingdom, Australia and Denmark in Iraq.
Successful applicants will receive health-care coverage under the Interim Federal Health Program as well as resettlement services similar to what is currently offered to government-assisted refugees, including up to 12 months of income support upon arrival in Canada. Applicants may apply under this program until the end of the Canadian combat mission in Kandahar in 2011.
