Congrats Bhai Jaan.  I am in the same boat. 

Also, one of my best friends just had his medicals done in Lahore through Dr. Arif Siddiqui at that Hameed Latif Hospital, I think.  He was very satisfied.  Got his appointment within 4-5 days, I believe.

It is easier in Lahore to get early appointments, than Karachi.

AoA Folks,

An update for those looking to get appointments for Med exams in Karachi.  I called up the following # this morning and surprise surprise, it was picked up on the 3rd ring.

I must say the lady at the other end was very courteous and helpful, unlike the bozo at Dr. Roohina Sattar's place.  But the earliest slot available was on March 26th.  Anyway, she got all the relevant info from me and asked me to bring the following with me at the time of the tests;

1) Passports
2) 2 copies of passport pages.
3) 5 passport size photos of each family member, with white B/G and lighter shade clothes.
4) Medical Forms received from CHC.
5) Medical Test fee in cash.

Hope this helps someone.

Very helpful indeed. Can you plz specify the amount of money they usually charge for this medical exam?. Is it a uniform amount pre-defined by CHC or varies depending on city or standards of doctor etc. BTW I am going to have mine at Lahore.

I have a large family masha Allah, so the total is around Rs. 17,000/-.

For parents: Rs. 3,550/- each.
For kids, depending upon age: Between Rs. 3,550 to 1,900.

I think above 15 is Rs. 3,550/-, between 12 and 15 is Rs. 2,450/- and under 11 is Rs. 1,900/- each person.

These rates are for IOM, and may be different for other venues.  Also, if anybody needs additional tests than the prescribed (for any reason), additional charges may apply.

I wanted to know can someone ask for original documents (like degrees, bitrh certificates) back from london, while their case is still in process??does it effect negatively?also, how do we ask them to send docs bac?should I email (what is email) or post letter ?

First application sent: may 2010
1st aor: october 2010
Full docs sent to london: novemebr 2010
2nd aor: april 2010
Ecase: in process.
I'm assuming london takes about 2 years (from full docs) to give decision of medical or rejection for pre-june applicants-

I had raised a case specific enquiry to London Visa Office on March 2, 2012 asking them about present status of my case and informing them about birth of my son. Today I received their reply email (within 4 days). I am sharing with you the contents of the email for your information as below:

"Dear Mr. Ghori,

Please note that your file was reviewed on 22 February 2012 by an immigration officer and subsequently a request letter was sent to your current mailing address along with your original documents for following documents:
 
-Updated Police certificates from Pakistan for yourself and your spouse
-Updated passport biopage copies for all
-Updated proof of funds
-2 recent photos of your daughter
-Right of Permanent Residence Fees of CAD$980 for yourself and your spouse.
 
Since there is a new addition to your family, please submit the documents listed below along with the aforementioned.
 

Updated forms which are available on our website:

    New Application for Permanent Residence IMM0008 form for the principal applicant
    New Schedule A/Background Declaration form for yourself and each family member over the age of 18
    New Additional Family Information form IMM5406 for yourself and each family member over the age of 18

Right of Permanent Residence Fee - The forms of payment accepted by our office in London are listed on our website.  Unlike the Visa Office in Islamabad, we cannot accept direct deposit payments to the Standard Chartered Bank, Pakistan.
