Dear Brothers,
I am new to this forum and not been so much active. but this thread is specifically for pakistani applicants therefore i expect some guidance from you.
i have started collecting document and arranging funds for me to apply for canadian immigration.
i have below question and would really appreciate if one could help me in this regard.
1. do i have to send all the documents(forms and VO documentes) to CHC(sydny canada) or Visa office? 2. is there a comprehensive checlist available either in excell or word form so that i could make sure that i dont miss anything? 3.i am graduate from NED and my wife is from Karachi university. sealed degree is for myself only or i should seal my wife's degree aswell? 4. i have done the translation of birth cirtificate but that birth cirtificate is from Municipial corporation? do i have to get NADRA birth certificate aswell?
i am going for Hajj on 27th October, will pray for betterment of all brothers.
Regards,
Salman

Didnt know if that travel form existed at that time.. soo didnt send that form.. do you think i should send it now..with a cover letter OR wait for them to ask for that form..and send it then.. I did send all my visa copies scanned with my documents..

Dear Friends(Specifically Saki and Canda1234),
How should i pay for canadian immigration fees. i know i can pay it thru Credit card or bank draft but How?
1. where my credit card will be swept and what proof i will get which i will send along Fee payment form?
2. if not credit card then how thru bank draft? i have a bank account in standard chartered bank which is in pakistani rupess. canadian immigration fees is 550 CAD$? how bank can make a bank draft in USD?
3. another imp question is that while collecting a bank statement for documents requirement, in my case i should have 13500 CAD$ in my account. but i have a bank account of Pakistani rupees. doest it mean that i can keep funds of about PKR 1147500 in my account which worth about 13500CAD$( exchange rate of 85) will that bank statement be acceptable to canadian high comission?
4. is there any requirement of bank statement to be sealed? it says NOTORIZED BANK STATEMENT? How should i attest my bank statement from notary public if i am sending orignal bank statement ?
Please clarify. thanks in advance.
Regards,
Salman

ans: Dear it is recommended that you should pay through a Demand draft in CAD, although credit card option seems to be attractive but there were issue in the past with the authorization and the credit card service was declined due to which the applications were returned . DD is the most safe option, you can have it made through any FC account of yours or any relative/friend's account.
3. another imp question is that while collecting a bank statement for documents requirement, in my case i should have 13500 CAD$ in my account. but i have a bank account of Pakistani rupees. doest it mean that i can keep funds of about PKR 1147500 in my account which worth about 13500CAD$( exchange rate of 85) will that bank statement be acceptable to canadian high comission? 4. is there any requirement of bank statement to be sealed? it says NOTORIZED BANK STATEMENT? ans:Bank statement of equivalent amount in PKR is acceptable, you get your bank statement signed by the bank official and stamped, no need of notorizing or attestation, in addition to that you can also obtain Bank manager's letter of good conduct of your account mentioning the total amount in your account. No need to seal it. Please clarify. thanks in advance.

Dear AHM, Thanks for your Comprehensive reply. i have some concerns in converting my bank account into Foreign currency account. it was en era in 1998-99 that pakistan's financial situation got worsen and all the money in people's FC account was taken by govt. instead of this equall amount of PKR were given to the people at very low conversion rate. that is a very big risk at current scenario. is there any other method thd that i could pay the fees? is there any other money exchange company like dollar east, moneygram deal with such services. Hi Salman, AMH has advised you the right way. You dont need to convert your account to a foreign account you can go to the dollareast ask them to make $550 CAD dollar draft and pay them the Pakistani Rupees as per exchange rate, no need of converting acount. Cheers SAki

You can make Demand Draft from any of forex company like Dollar east, western union etc. I would recommend DD is more reliable than CC, many of people before have their applications returned because CIC couldn't be able to charge their credit cards.
3. another imp question is that while collecting a bank statement for documents requirement, in my case i should have 13500 CAD$ in my account. but i have a bank account of Pakistani rupees. doest it mean that i can keep funds of about PKR 1147500 in my account which worth about 13500CAD$( exchange rate of 85) will that bank statement be acceptable to canadian high comission? Check with that if you and your spouse applying then for 2 persons POF is 13801 CAD$. Yeah you can keep an equivalent amount in local currency in your bank. But you should keep the required minimum amount in your account till visa stamped. Atleast 3-6 months bank statement is required for POF. 4. is there any requirement of bank statement to be sealed? it says NOTORIZED BANK STATEMENT? How should i attest my bank statement from notary public if i am sending orignal bank statement ? You need fresh bank statement and letter from bank which shows for how long you have been maintaining the account, branch manager should sign on it. No need to seal and notarize the bank statement. Just send it [Original].
Please clarify. thanks in advance.
Regards,
Salman

Hi Salman, Letter will not do anything to prove relationship you will have to show the birth certificate, copy of pr card and other document showing there current address like utiliy bill or rental agreement , tax return statement etc. I know its hard job to get a birth certificate but to get points you will have to get that. Cheers Saki

PAKISTAN LOOSING SHARE.....REASONNS? This does not represent a decline in the actual number of Chinese immigrating. Rather, it reflects a dramatic increase in the number of Filipinos and Indians that are having their applications for permanent residence approved. Using the data received from CIC, it shows the top 10 source countries for immigrants from January 1 June 30 in 2009, and compares it with the same time period for 2010. 2009 (Jan 1 June 30) 2010 (Jan 1 June 30) Country # of Immigrants Country # of Immigrants China 14,503 Philippines 17,474 Philippines 14,426 India 15,656 India 13,410 China 15,051 United States 4,742 United Kingdom 5,031 United Kingdom 4,545 United States 4,824 France 3,608 France 3,336 Pakistan 3,132 United Arab Emirates 3,176 Iran 2,737 Columbia 2,874 Republic of Korea 2,443 Republic of Korea 2,839 Germany 2,219 Morocco 2,697 While the decline of China as a source country of immigrants relative to the Philippines and India is notable, it is also interesting to note that most of the top 10 source countries saw their absolute numbers increase. The notable exception is Pakistan, which saw the number of people obtaining permanent residence in Canada dropping from 3,132 to 2,628, a decline of almost 25%. There have been e-mails circulating amongst the immigration-lawyer community as to why this is, which will be the subject of a future post
