Not so long ago when one of my friends met a Canadian lawyer in Canada, he was told by the lawyer that fast track is nothing but the name given to the same application that took once 2-3 years to land there. Just count 18-24 months right after filing your request, no case is ever processed particularly from Pakistan before this time frame. I filed mine in the mid of 2009 with a hope that it would be processed within a year, as per fast track promise, nothing happened so far!

But Faisal123, I have seen people on this thread getting PR is 13 months or even less but none of them from Pakistan. Examples are satish and Naavy100 both from India. I think CIC takes time on background checks for Pakistani applicants.

At the start, fast track was really a fast track in CHC isb but after mid 2009, things totally changed... check the start pages of this forum and you would find people getting pr in less an year and a few in 6 months...

In my opinion its the security checks, that is taking time because Pakistan is among the red zone countries now, as declared by united nations

Imran, honeybee, majority of our fellows got their cases so quick, that even Delhi applicants used to quote our example

hmm.... what about after landing (Hopefully)? Would they then also consider us as suspicious people because we are from Pak?

Strange question but we should have answer to it specially from Pakistanis already moved to Canada in recent times.

Anyways, thanks for sharing this.

Take care.

Wanna share one of Qorax's post with you guys. The post being written in general perspective.

The moment your e-cas goes to 'in process' - STOP LOOKING      @      IT, please. It doesn't help u -- neither it is [the e-cas] any 'tool' to check our case progress. Understand the timeframe instead:

Meds:
6-9 months from 2nd stage docs SENT,
OR
4-6 months from the 2nd AOR,
OR
3-5 months from any Addnl.Docs Request.

PPR:
3-5 months from Meds Received       @       CHC,
7 months for some cases - with security issues,
[God forbid] Furthered Meds - need another 3-5 months,
[God forbid] External Security Check/s - may take the case to 9-12 months.

If PPR & Meds r together:
U r looking      @      a total of 3-6 months for the Meds Validation + Security Clearances to fetch your PRVs - in 'normal' circumstances.

DANGER:
After Pps SENT -- DO NOT correspond with your VO*, s/he might just return your Pps 'unstamped' [and ask u to send them later].

Note:
Anytime the processing goes beyond the foregoing timeframe - pls feel free to contact your VO. U may use either the CIC 'webform' or email 'directly' to them.

Qorax
*Till 5-7 months.

Strange question but we should have answer to it specially from Pakistanis already moved to Canada in recent times.

Anyways, thanks for sharing this.

Take care.

All those who landed say one thing: there is no discrimination in Canada and probably this is the best country one should immigrate to, in terms of non-discrimination. Exceptions are everywhere, but according to them, Pakistan has a much worse society, comparatively, if you consider discrimination. I apologize if i am offending someone, this is just about a few opinions from my circle of friends.

There is one bad opinion, it is really tough to find job there. The market is very competitive and employers does not consider international experience. There is rush on jobs and one has to struggle really hard to get into their market, if successful, the immigrant enjoys life , if fails, he regrets why he left a good job back at Pakistan.

One more thing, one of our forum member got PPR and attended a seminar, to prepare for canada arranged by iom. After the seminar, majority of Pakistanis were abusing Pakistan to be such a low country. He tried to explain them that yes there is a difference in both countries but every place has its own charms and the Canada is not a heaven. They started fighting with him and he got silent but when he came back he said, now i really want all of them to goto canada.. believe he was in touch with a few after immigration and majority of them were so dishearted in Canada that they regreted why they resigned their jobs in Pakistan.

To make it short, Canada is a good country, a developed country with oppurtunities, and a gateway to north american job market. If a person keeps a clear goal and faces the odds with bravity, chances are there he would definitely succeed. Good universities (Atleast highly recognized and well respected if compared to our country) and a country where you can learn English and French, the two official languages of UN and major Multinational companies. You make a real difference in your profile and it is easy for a person to click in the international market then.

Off from the forum now, I would be back in a few days...

Pray we succeed here in immigration and we succeed to make the world a more better place. effort is needed no matter what goal you want to achieve in any part of the world

Dear All
I have read a news story in express newspaper that the State Bank has sanctioned not take take more than $10,000 cash while traveling foreign countries from Pakistan.  In ours case what should we do because one should take the fund which is usually desired by visa office.  In my case its $17,000
