A new line was added in my case that they have reviewed my file and start processing on 30th January

But my case is showing in process since May 2010

There is  new forum for prejune applicants with new line ....with tracker.. so that every pre june applicant with new line
can share any V-call, MR or any other change

I would like people to comment....

After reading this forum I have reached a conclusion that back ground checks are not conducted for every applicant. I have seen some people getting medicals just days / weeks after going in process and for some it can take ages. I think for those who the CHC thinks are doubtful only the back ground checks are conducted for them. This is just my sole opinion and I can be wrong. Please comment if any body wants to...

i agree with you i have couple of friends who already got PR and in Canada now these days  no one got any verification
actually one of them was working in my company in Uk and i had all record to verify as i was working there as a Finance manager .. but i didnt get any inquiry against him...

 @  Cocknbull, there is some weight in your inference about trhr background checks.  it is clear that for some people, the background checks longer while for others they receive their medicals with in weeks of getting IN PROCESS..
However, i think the VO do take background checks for everyone, but for some ple there case is so straigntforward that the entire check is merely going over the docs that they sent and getting clearance from Pakistan only. 
in other casis, the applicant may have a longggg travel history, might have studies abroad, might have degrees and diplomas and work experiences from different countries etc.. in such cases, i think the VO asks for clearance from all countries and it takes longer to verify all degrees and diplomas, work experreiences from different countries.

i hav been IN PROCESS since Oct 2011 so i have been waiting 4 months now...    but i have a longggg international history.. travelled to many countries, studies in USA then again studied back in Pakistan, worked in USA and in pakistan.. so i guess its taking them really long to get all the clearances for me.. ( 

but i keep telling myself that since all this time has passed, may be the MR is just around the corner...  so everyone , please pray for me..

Contrary to you, I got in process in July 11 and send updated documents asked by London VO in Aug 11 and since then I am waiting for MR. I have worked and studied in only Pakistan. I have studied from best of Pakistani schools and colleges like IBA Karachi, UET Lahore and Cadet College Hassan Abdal.
This means there is something else to background checks then simple checking of credentials.
I think it is only upto God, what ever he does is the best for us. We will get our turn for Medicals and Visas too, if that is good for us. May God help us all.
