If you have sufficient work experience and can get a job in Canada as per your work experience, then you are eligible, provided you meet the eligibility requirements.

Degree is not that important.

hi noneng,

if the other noc you are thinking about is not in the 38 list, then do not contemplate on using it with your application as fsw1.  also, you cannot choose your noc based on your title.  first, go to noc 1111 in the website then check if the duties listed there match the duties you did in your previous jobs.  you could also check noc 0111.  these are the 2 noc codes for accountants/auditors.  if you have experience in some or most of the main duties, then you can use that noc code.

1111 Financial Auditors and Accountants
Financial auditors examine and analyze the accounting and financial records of individuals and establishments to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards and procedures. Accountants plan, organize and administer accounting systems for individuals and establishments. Articling students in accounting firms are included in this unit group. Financial auditors and accountants are employed by auditing and accounting firms throughout the private and public sectors, or they may be self-employed.

Main duties
Financial auditors perform some or all of the following duties:
-  Examine and analyze journal and ledger entries, bank statements, inventories, expenditures, tax returns and other accounting and financial records, documents and systems of an individual, department, company or other establishment to ensure financial recording accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards, procedures and internal controls
-  Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and make recommendations to improve individual or establishment's accounting and management practices
-  Conduct field audits of businesses to ensure compliance with provisions of the Income Tax Act, Canadian Business Corporations Act or other statutory requirements
-  May supervise other auditors or professionals in charge of accounting within client's establishment.

i hope this helps.  good luck!

thank you so much mom2karl. my job description falls under noc code 1111. what happened was my initial application was rejected and i received a letter that the main duties that i have listed do not indicate that i have performed the actiions describe in the lead statement of the occupation. they also returned my initial payment. my follow up question is can i use the check that they returned and re-apply? my duties and responsibilities are really similar to the one listed on their website that's why i am really confused why they returned my application.

thanks again.

Noneng,

The check or DD should be payable to the Receiver General for Canada.  The check you received would most probably be in your name.

Pls think twice about re-submitting with the same duties you mentioned in your application that got rejected.  I suggest you re-word, add something, or change it altogether so as to match the duties in the noc.

Good luck!

@ duggalca, at what stage is your friend's application now?
