I have been a reader of this forum for long but this would be my first post.

I am planning to submit my application for PR under LCP this cominng january but I have some questions.

Would there be any problem if I apply under option 2 (3900hrs) if I include hours after 40hrs/wk as overtime. It is indicated in my contract that I will be working for my employer for 40hrs/week. Does that mean, after finishing 40 hours, is it considered overtime? I live in alberta by the way and 44/hrs a week is considered regular hours.

Which should we follow? Our contract or Alberta's?

thanks

hi myNAMEis ME

we're both in d same dilema, i'm also planning to choose and apply option 2, as of Nov. i already have 4,447 regular hours worked and Overtime of 140 hrs. I will complete 22 mos dis coming dec.10,2011 and my contract will finish dis coming feb.10,2012. All my overtime are declared by my employer but still am confius  if i have to pursue that option 2.

well about ur question, i tink working more than 40hrs/week is considered overtime and it should be included in your payslip and declared for tax ....

Hi my name..if 44hrs is still regular hrs, then u dont hav overtime hrs. But i think, u can still choose option 2 as long as u apply within min of 22months and u reach 3900. And as long as that 44hrs per wek payroll is computed and deducted according to cra. And fill up the employer dclaration form

thank you for the replies.

at neng - i think that you do not have any problem with your hours since you have more than 3900.

at bitoyz - my employer still computed my work hours 40/hrs as regular time and 41 and so forth hours in a week as overtime in paying taxes to CRA.
