Thank you guys. I am not planning on coming back to the US and hopefully I wont get arrested. I just wanted to make sure Canada would still stamp my passport and give me the green card. If me overstaying here won't affect Canada giving me the green card then I am good. My family is not in the US anyway I just came here for school. Friends are on facebook and they could come visit me lol

Don't worry you will get it visa. just matter is for future traveling. you are still in safe zone.

Yea hopefully, by the way do you know how long it takes to get Passport Request after paying RPRF ?? My medicals reached Ottawa April 19th 2011 and then August 7th 2011, I received RPRF letter from Buffalo.

you can avoid overstay if you want (Seniors correct me if I'm wrong) ... if PPR is the only thing you're waiting for and if you don't get an interview call from Buffalo (fingers crossed) ... you can do one of the following two:

- go back to your home country without overstay (report Buffalo of your new address) ... when you get PPR by email, ask Buffalo to have PPR routed to home country VO (I read this on this forum somewhere, you'll have to search) ... Buffalo will ask for PP copies and after that your home VO will issue you a new PPR ... you send your PP to home country VO and get it stamped from there

- go back to your home country without overstay, apply for visit to Canada (or apply while you're in US and get it within 30 days) ... when you get PPR ... go to Canada and send PP to Buffalo just like other Inland applicants do ... leave Canada as a visitor and re-enter to land

now all this assumes Buffalo doesn't call you for an interview ... but to be on the safest side, go back to home country and apply for US visit visa as well ...

P.S.: Can an interview also be re-routed to VO in another country?

I'm on h1b and visited brampton by road car drive in april 2011, as you are nonimmigrant in usa border security both side will check your legal status. if you are Canada pr holder or USA GC holder and have NEXUS member ship card you will travel safely but they will check your belongings on both poE.
so, first time entry becarefull that travel and get ready to describe your status at both POE.

Whats your PR file status? Share here.

I also overstayed in the US but got my Canada PR visa so I moved from US to Canada on Aug 2008. I have applied for Citizenship. I assume I am barred to enter the US because of my overstay. By their law, should be 10 yrs. I saw a post in this thread that having a Canadian passport once you become a citizen would let me enter the US. Is this true?
