Hello,

I just sent in my application on September 8, 2009 to CPC-M to sponsor my UK spouse to Canada, but now I'm a bit worried that the pr application will be refused due to a past dui conviction (in the uk) that  my spouse had in 1997. My spouse had to pay a fine of £150 and had a driving ban of 12 months.  I read on the CIC website that a person may be deemed rehabilitated if more than 10 years has pass since the end of the sentence imposed. I even called the CIC call centre before sending in my application, giving the agent the details of the conviction and to ask if my spouse will need to apply for rehabilitation, the agent said that more than 10yrs has passed but she is not sure if my spouse will need to be rehabilitated but to not delay in sending in the application anyway.  Has anyone had any problems with their application that included past criminal conviction(s)?

Thanks.
