Hey,
So your saying if one of the parents is a canadian citizen , but was born out of Canada , any babys that this parent has that are born outside Canada do not get the citizenship ? if you have writen proof of this it would be great
Thanks
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/rules.aspit's under the heading "Understanding the first generation limitation"
MY HUSBAND IS STILL CONCERNED ABOUT LETTING CIC KNOW ABOUT PREGNANCY, HE THINKS IT MIGHT DELAY THE PROCESS... I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. BUT WHAT HARM WOULD IT DO IF THEY DONT KNOW? WHAT IF I GET MY PR BEFORE DUE DATE??
as mentioned... there's no real harm in telling them... there is no "box" for pregnancy on the forms, the only thing that the call centre *might* do is put a notation on your account... they'll probably just suggest that you forward birth papers in as soon as possible if you are still processing...
that aside, CIC will find out about the pregnancy anyways when they ask for your medical redo and it comes back either incomplete or denoted that you are pregnant.... then they will proceed as they wish (which will likely wait until you give birth to complete the medical, and add the baby on the forms (as a canadian citizen child), they'll want to see proof of birth (birth certificate) and possibly proof that you've initiated the citizenship process, two things you're going to need to do anyways)...
