The problem is....that the average Canadian tax payer does not want the government spending their tax dollars on immigration. So the current government has to justify the spending, whilst keeping the total cost as low as possible.

What is apparent and this applies to all government departments, is they could probably be a lot more efficient, approve twice as many applications in half the time and half the cost, if they cut a lot of the unnecessary red tape.

But as pigs do not fly yet, I doubt I will ever see that in my life time.

I hear what your saying angelbrat.

I think it also has to do with how many permanent residences they want to hand out in a single year. They said that they gave $280,000 last year which is over how many they wanted to give. They usually do not want to pass the 250,000 mark.

I heard from someone that there are around 19 IO in Vegreville. I don't know if that is right or not but that ia what I heard.
