Dear All,

I am from Pakistan, and my Visa Office is London. I have applied prior to 26/6 and have recieved my file no. I am collecting all documents and about to send them out soon.

However, there's a lof of confusion mainly due to different people writing all sorts of things on this forum. Some are saying that documents need to be photocopies, some are claiming they should be attested from foreign office, other are saying they should be original. Can someone verify my understanding:

As per the VO London document, it clearly states that:
1. Original marriage certificate or "Nikah Nama"
2. Wedding photographs
3. Photocopies of identification cards Shinakhti Pass with certified translation
4. Original birth certificates for you and your spouse with translation
5. Photocopies of Post-secondary education documents
6. Photocopies of College or university documents: certification of completion and the graduation degree, diploma, or certificate issued by the college or university and the evaluation committee
7. Original transcripts of all degrees must be submitted in university-sealed envelopes
8. Notarized professional qualifications certificates should be submitted if available. (e.g., Engineer, 9. Computer Programmer, Accountant, Economist, Translator/Interpreter, Architect etc.)
10. Notarized employment contracts

My opinion is that we should supply exactly what they have asked for. Not more and definitely no less.

Your experience and advice would be highly appreciated.

Regards,

Hi
I agree with you tha you should send everything as required otherwise you shall have to resend at a later stage and thats gonna delay the process. They are not gonna loose anything and you shall get your docs back so dont worry

As far notary is concerned go to kachehri and ask for notary public and get the documents attested from him better if you have a lawyer friend request him and he can talk to the notary and you can get these notarized very easily and cheaply otherwis they ask 100 rp per doc and thats gonna be very exensive.
I got mine notarized at the cost of 5 rps/doc

hope this helps

Yes, do as per checklist. I don't think foreign office and/or HEC notarization is required. Also Police certificate must be original.

You will get all the originals back (not police certificate) at time of medical. I got back the original nikah nama and birth certificates with medical request.

good luck.

Regards,

you are correct mobisheikh we should only supply what they have asked for.

but in case of original transcripts in university sealed envelopes, some universities do not issue second set of original transcripts in university sealed envelopes so myself and many other people attested them from HEC / notary public and send them and wrote that in covering letter that university doesn't issue originals in seald envelopes.

nomral notray can notarise employment contract.

I agree with you wxyz123. Most Colleges and Universities in Pakistan (or in most non-western countries) don't supply second set of originals be it transcripts or degree. In that case it would be best to get HEC/ notary public stamp on it. In my case luckily I got my sealed transcripts.

Cheers

Salam,

If the Central Office is going to return your original documents, then no harm in sending that. Also anyone who have applied, kindly tell that whether it is obligatory to have HEC and foreign office attestation of the documents or not, as the OP6 file clearly demonstrate that documents needs relative verification?

Yes they surely return your originals but it takes 5-6 months. Why should we needlessly send them something so important.

Thanks but I may not have all my past employment contracts. I will have to search for them. But I have the current one for sure where I have been working for 3 years and 9 months. Is it ok if I only attached current one?

attach current one and for the rest mention in your cover letter that you are unable to find.
