Hi Friend - I sent my copies of all three years marksheet and passing certificates to CIC, couldnt get my transcript from Mumbai as I am in Australia currently - No family in India to run errands.

I had transcript for my Australian degree -

Write a cover letter explaining why you dont have transript

Do say you made an attempt to contact the Uni -Mumbai Uni dont respond when you ask them to move their butt to work when you are face to face just imagine asking them to do something over the phone lol

Yourmaninindia.com can help I have applied through them, I am still waiting for transcript but they kepp me updated with the progress...

There are two different systems of FSW application,pre-26 june and post 26 june 2010.It depends on under which system you have applied. If under pre 26 batch, the copied or notarized docuts: could be sent to CIO and  original transcripts shall be submitted to relevant VO at later stage, since VO will do thorough eligibility review and verify the bona fides of supportive docuts:. Alternatively if someone has applied FSW after 26 june 10, he/she must comply with the requirements of which CIO+ VO imposed. Since CIO would do eligibility review as an integral part of the processes,  the post-26 bunch needs to submit original transcripts in the University sealed envelopes to CIO as per VO's checklist. Hence,if someone plans to apply after 26 june, would better peruse both CIO and VO checklists before submit application.

Hi ayazf.

I dont thing that transcript are necessary. I thing the you just provide your degree certificate. I think that transcripts are the marking sheets subject wise. in your opinion, what is meant by transcript by the way.

You think wrong.  Here is what the checklist states.

"6.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS
For you and your spouse or common-law partner:
•Post-secondary education documents: vocational or technical certificates or diplomas;
•College or university documents: certification of completion and the graduation degree, diploma, or certificate issued by the college or university and the evaluation committee;
Transcripts: original transcripts of all degrees must be submitted in university-sealed envelopes.
•Professional qualifications certificates: notarized professional qualifications certificates should be submitted if available. (e.g., Engineer, Computer Programmer, Accountant, Economist, Translator/Interpreter, Architect etc.)

Original Transcripts are necessary. There may be remote cases where, it had worked out without them, but normally original transcripts are needed.

Original transcripts differ from university to university. Contact your university to find out about it. Do something, anything. But make sure you attach your SEALED original transcript.

Hi,

I would like to emphasize here that strictly follow the checklist. I completely understand that one or two or even three applicants might have got lucky with the copies of documents and not original transcripts. It is very essential to submit the list as asked. It always depends upon the visa officer to take the final call, so why leave your case hanging like a pendulum.

There are some universities and colleges which are very reputed even then CHC has written back to applicants asking for original transcripts.

Yes if it is a very genuine call and you do not have any other alternative than submitting copies then go ahead as you do not have any other option but if you can then you must.

This is my advice to all of you here as I understand you have put it a lot of your time, money and have thought about moving to Canada.

Best of luck

Rocky
