Hello again

I am trying to pull all of my paperwork together and when i was reviewing the forms that my spouse (as principal applicant) has signed it appears that she has forgotten one. Is it really mandatory that she signs all of them as original copies? She lives in Asia and it is very expensive to courier and time consuming to wait for just one more form.

If i scanned it would they really notice?

If you see the Document Checklist (IMM 5491E) all forms for both the sponsor and the applicant(s) must be submitted in original, except for the copy of the receipt you print when paying your fees online. Nothing in the guides or forms themselves tell you anything about the signatures being "originals" or if scanning is allowed.

My advice is that if you feel time constrained for sending your application right away, submit it with scanned signature but be prepared to send the ones with the "real" signature upon request.

I will also defer to other forum members who have experience with that issue to chime in.

Hi,

She should sign on the form.

Do you really want to take the chance of your application being sent back to you?

I thought I saw in the package, they actually wanted signatures in black ink but I couldn't find it now when I went back to look.  Check the guidelines also because they tell you whether they want originals or photocopies of documents.  If it states original, I would think that means an original signature as well.

My husband forgot to sign one of the forms, so I had him sign it, scan it, and email it to me. The visa officer did not question it. However, I believe it is better to send the actual signed form, not a scanned copy. But to save time and money I went with the scanned copy and it worked for us. Could be the visa officer did not notice it was not the original.
