Which original documents are you referring to? Except for when they are ready to issue the visa and ask for the principal applicant's passport, the other few documents that are requested only as originals are not really things that you would feel bad parting with. By the way, you don't need to put relationship evidence such as photographs, cards, and letters in their original format in the application- you can photocopy those things and it will be fine as long as the information there will be understood by the IO.

i am just at the initial step of applying the Spousal Sponsorship Application of my wife to Canadian Immigration. They asked her ORIGINAL documents of Education and also the ORIGINAL Marriage certificate, its mandatory for Pakistani Nationals. Now, i was quite surprised of this and this i wanted to know whether they will return back all the original documents or no??

Thanks once again!! Waiting for a reply..

Ah, okay, you're looking at the Region Specific Instructions for General Asia. I don't know how it is in your universities, but in my experience with universities in the U.S., it is very easy and inexpensive to obtain a transcript of your studies. As far as the nikkah Nama, you should post in the Islamabad thread as far as the details on the number and translation/notarization of that as they know much better.

I think it depends on the visa office and perhaps even the immigration officer. I've heard of both them being returned and them not being returned. Again, I would check with the Islamabad thread.
