My wife called a few weeks ago and requested it, the guy said he had it and was putting it in the envelope to get mailed out. Its been a few weeks and she still has not got it, our application needs to get mailed out soon since my police certificate is about to expire. Would it be okay to include a copy of her taxes for the tax year and her pay stubs from this year? since the option c is basically to prove you're not getting welfare

Just wondering if you really need the original printout from CRA for submission to CIC? If not, can you ask him to email that to you?

I would send the option C, it seems like it would be a better option to wait for the option C and get a new police check.. it might be a hassle right now.. but it might save you time later.. If they decide you have missing documents later, it is only going to make the processing time longer.

Also I believe police checks are valid for a year. I suppose it depends on what country you are from. Are you using a police check that you got previously for something else?

For CIC's purposes, police checks cannot be more than 3 months old when you submit your application.  This rule applies to all countries.

Request another mentioning that the first request never arrived. It should only take about a week to get to you.

We submitted our application without Option C, we submitted a copy of latest T4 and a current pay stubs for like 6 months and we just put a note that Option C to follow upon request as it is not available at the time of filing our application and CPC Missisauga never asked to submit it. My husband was approved even without the Option C.

one last thing, we also included a copy of letter of employment from my husband employer detailing the length of service, position and monthly salary.

hope this helps.

Thank you, that sounds reassuring, she has the letter and she can provide pay stubs from when she started working. I think they mostly want it to 1) prove that their not on welfare and 2) for the people who have to meet an income requirement. because if you read in the checklist it says for people who must meet the income requirement and are not providing a option C please submit the following. or something along those lines.

yes i agree that they want to see that the sponsor is not on welfare and with a copy of T4, letter of employment and current pay stubs as a substitute for Option C.

kourts, my wife and i had the same problem so we submitted her current T4, and a letter from her employer, i also added a covering letter explaining that we were still waiting on the option c printout.
luckily for us the option c arrived 2 dauys later so we have forwarded it, along with our marriage certificate which also turned up eventually!

i also explained that we were anxious about canada post going on strike (they're supposed to be going on strike this friday) so we thought they were mitigating circumstances
good luck!

Hi,

Can I join this room asking about our situation hopefully somebody can help us out? My husband got the option C print out but his last income (2010) was so low (just 8.000$) but now he has his own business and starting getting more income to his business account. Can I just still send the print out Opt C together with his business account statement showing that he will have more than 23.000 to sponsor his wife? or is that too risky for us to send with just that? What should I input in the sponsorship valuation in question 3 (your net personal income)?

Thanks for your replies...

If he's only sponsoring you the wife, and NO children then he doesn't have to meet an income requirement and the option C should be good enough.

as for the other question Im not sure, maybe someone else can answer that.

Thanks kourts for your prompt reply. Yes, he only sponsor me as neither of us have our own children yet. But what I still wondering was the minimum total that you are able to sponsor your spouse? We just wanted to make sure we are qualified for application. Otherwise, we will have to wait until he has enough required income to sponsor.

thanks a lot again
