Hey there everyone,

My wife and I are just brushing over all the papers and making sure everything is in check but I'm having a bit of an issue with the Option C printout. I did request for one from Canada Revenue and I received a form titled RC143 E (04) Income Tax Return Information for the 2009 tax year, I'm not too sure if this is the form I require?

Also I noticed on the form IMM5481 it states "Your net personal income for the 12-month period preceding the date of your application" So for this would I be entering just an exact 12 month period from October 2010 to October 2011? Or do I use what is on the form I received?

Thanks for all the help everyone, both my wife and I appreciate it.

You enter the net income for the October to October period (Or whatever month you apply.)

I don't think that the option C actually says "Option C" on it, so whatever they sent you is it. I forget what exactly they called it. But I know on the front page it said something like, "enclosed is the information you requested".

Good luck Smiley

Sorry to bump this old thread but, I missed doing taxes for this year... So the latest form I have as I said is for the 2009 tax year. Now since it is asking for my income in the past 12 months how can I exactly do this? I technically have no proof other than pay stubs showing my year to date pay.

Thanks again for all the responses everyone we appreciate it.

For the net income you just literally add up every dollar you made/got/appeared-in-your-bank-account in the last year. I don't think it is necessary to prove this number. I did not submit an option C for the latest tax year, and I only submitted a couple of pay stubs showing that I had actually worked at the places I said I did. I also submitted a bank statement since I was worried that they wouldn't think I could support myself since I had very little income, but I did have savings in the bank. But I don't think the bank statement is necessary if you are employed.

Remember, the goal with the financial stuff is to prove that you and your significant other can support yourselves without social assistance.

I got sponsorship approval, without requests for additional documentation, if you were wondering. Smiley

I just found out that my accountant didn't actually file my taxes for 2010 (when I called CRA to ask for my Option C they told me I dont have 2010 taxes filed.

So...am I going to cause grief sending in one from 2009, or should I wait the extra month to send in an Option C from 2011...

Did you use Option C for 2009 tax year? If so, what was the result for Stage 1?
